Greatest Rock Band Ever

I've been brought up around the Beach Boys, as my Dad is such a big fan, so I would have to list them highly.
I did just go and see We Will Rock You, the Queen musical in the Dominion Theatre in London, and my god, did that own.
Definatly worth watching if you are a queen fan, was utterly brilliant, great atmosphere aswell.

Anyway, so I would have to say the Beach Boys and Queen, never really been a huge fan of the Beatles, although they do have good songs.

I thought to be described as rock, well, a band had to, well, you know....rock? I don`t mean that as a derogatory slur, I just mean that the songs I`ve heard of Radiohead, (from Creep through Street Spirit up to Paranoid Android etc) I wouldn`t describe them as rock, maybe Indie?

The only song I`ve heard of their`s that has even a little rock in it is Creep, hardly circumstances to bill the entire band as rock.

I will admit to not hearing all their music (in particular after they went all Kid A) but I`ve heard a sizable portion of it. Maybe I`m wrong, just my thoughts.
About 2:15 into Paradoid Android is rock. Electioneering is fully rock.

But it depends what you think rock is. I would say Lucky was rock music too.

I'm sorry but Queen is good but not the best Rock band in my mind. If you want to define rock, there is only one band who can do it..AC/DC. Keep in mind, I'm talking about the 70's and 80's AC/DC with Bon Scott. The best guitar soloist in the world, Angus Young, and countless hits make AC/DC a rock and roll legend.

Who
Steppenwolf (or whatever)
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam
Guns n Roses

loads of bands rock, but for me, the Who are the best, with 'Wont get fooled again' as my fav rock song ever.

Slipknot. Nah just joking. The Who are pretty cool and I'd say they are up there with teh best of them

Yes its Queen (God save them)
Yeah I seen them live ! ( but without Freddie :( )

Why would you want to see them live without Freddie anyway?

I know I wouldn't go see any of my favourite bands if the lead singer had died. Lead singers/guitarists aren't as easily replacable as drummers for example. It just wouldn't be anything near the same without the old singer.

Sorry for mistake I wrote:

But I edit it:

So, I want to see them live with Freddie. But its late...:(

U2 voted best band ever (officially)...i say no more really

I love all rock music. RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. AUDIOSLAVE. WHEEZER. FOO FIGHTERS. AC/DC. SOUNDGARDEN. OFFSPRING. NIRVANA. ect.ect.ect.

I'd have to say the greatest of all time would be led zeppelin, greatest now would be queens of the stoneage.

Erm....when was this "official vote" and who ran it?

What about Tool?

Tool are up there with the greats. Well, in my mind at least.

Not to mention bands like Genesis.
