Freezing in Half Life 2. Not temporary freezing!!
I have had a strange freezing problem in Half Life 2, and I don't think its the same one I've been reading in other forums.
1) The game loads fine, no problems there!
2) The game plays for about 20 minutes or so then crashes, and badly at that!!
3) This is different from the temporary freezing thats also is affecting myself and many other people
4) The crash consists of the screen turning either green or purple completely, there is no viewable
picture or desktop etc.
5) I have an XFX Geforce 6800 GT volt modded and overclocked. I have lowered the frequencies but still get this problem.
6) I own Doom 3, likewise a very graphically stunning game and also a very large strain on any Graphics card.
7) Doom 3 runs as normal, everything up full. I have no glitches or artiefacts on screen at all.
8) I only experience this problem in Half Life 2.
9) Due to the screen colour and the fact that this is a very stressfull game, I initially put it down to me
overworking my card.
10) After seeing all the other bugs in Half Life 2 (and I don't mean Ant Lions!!) that people have been having I did
wonder if it could be a software problem, Im not too sure so thats why Im writing this.
11) Due to the fact that Doom 3 is probably the next most stressfull game to a GPU, I thought that if I pushed this card
in Doom 3, I may get a similar problem, but I have tried to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
