Wouldn't it be nice to a GTA game on the source engine? It would make the GTA experience that much more better, what do you all think?

Depends. What could it do better on the source engine that it cant on its own?

Maybe a bit better graphics but nothing major uber-ness better or else you'd be loading the game for 30minutes and would need a top line pc to just make the game work and GTAVC on PC has pretty good graphics as it is with mods installed (I'm just installing VC again to play through it, again, with the Killerkips mod - sweetness:D )

Well its a bitch to get any kind of info on it now. The guy that made it has stopped updating it (its on 1.4 now) and he has removed all links on his website apart from the download link http://www.killerkip.be/gtavc14px.htm. I dont know how i stumbled upon it but i personally think it rocks as it adds modern cars to the game and isn't a ridiculously stupid mod that makes every car go 500mph, although it does had a mc'laren F1 car hidden in the Airport which is in-destructable but is hella fast, REALLY FAST! but you never see it driving about, its just there for having some fun when you want to.

Anyway its a nice mod for VC but beware, it can take a while to install on some computers and could be quite tricky if you have no clue about PC's

Lets see, what could u doo... Sweet as physics for one. You could really make the whole experince alot better. With better graphics, insane facial animations, hit a barrel, a street light and watch it act in perfect realism.

Also alig, HL2 does not require a top of the line computer, actually it requires like a... almost decent computer to todays standards. 30 minute load times my ass, more like 1 - 2 minutes. I mean HL2 will have some big outdoor levels, and im posititive it wouldn't take over 4 minutes.

Valve has made it so it would be only a matter of seconds like the original Half-Life....

Wouldn't it take forever to re-create a game like GTA:VC or GTA:SA on Source?

I'm no expert modder by any means *audience gasps*, but..I would think it would be quite the difficult task.

Probably at least a year...

Source engine could not handle it. GTA requires huge, densely populated outdoor areas, and the engine is designed specifically for GTA. I think if you made a GTA game on Source, it wouldn't work as well as it does on the current engine.

I was going to say two, but I didn't want to be wrong.

HL2 maps are'nt even a blimp on the GTA:SA map.
