Take2Games has today announced as part of its financial results that GTA: San Andreas will ship one week later than expected, to allow for final testing of the game.
The game will now be available on October 26th in North America and October 29th in Europe. It is not yet known if release dates will change for other territories, such as Australia/New Zealand, where the original release date was the 28th of October.
However, a small amount of good news comes in the form of a release date for the PC version of the game:
Additional products planned for fiscal 2005 from Rockstar Games include Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for PC in the third quarter, as well as two new console titles based on proven brands from Rockstar's internal studios, in the third and fourth quarters. Rockstar also plans to release Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in Japan in fiscal 2005.

We're not joking, unfortunately, so PS2 owners can expect to be playing this October, and PC gamers will be having the fun sometime in April, May or June 2005.
Update: To silence a few rumours, Take2Games just confirmed that the price of the game will be $49.95 in the USA. Preorder numbers are "significantly higher" than Vice City's numbers at the same time in 2002. The Game Boy Advance version of GTA will carry an "M" rating from ESRB in North America.

- While in a casino, there are a variety of minigames available to play, such as Blackjack, Video Poker, Wheel of Fortune, Slots and Craps.
- Elvis Presley impersonators are present in Las Venturas for a little bit of drunken humor.
- The famous Las Vegas cowboy sign is included in San Andreas, but features Avery Carrington (of Vice City Fame) instead.
- A giant Candy Suxx statue adorns the exterior of one of Las Venturas' buildings.
