GTA San Andreas Gamespot Review!

Interesting read. The game isn't ground breaking but its a solid fun game, just like Vice City but bigger :)

I really think that hey ran out of ideas, they should have left the country side for later games.

How the hell would you know? You haven't even played it.

From what I read from both reviews, it's not ground braking as Vice City was.

Well you certainly can't argue with a 9.6 and a 9.9, but I never really trust the first couple of reviews. Hopefully more will be up today. This is looking like a serious competitor against HL2 for Game of the Year.

Meh.

From the actual text, I wouldn't have given it a 9.6 really. I'd probably have shot at 9.2, but I guess that's my own personal loathing of games trying to put RPG elements into other genres. Still, everything else souned kinda kickass.

40 hours ^^

GORDON FREEMAN, DAMN YOU11!!!1

Ahem....

While I am sure GTA:SA kicks ass, I feel quite certain HL2 will kick more ass. But, I don't even have a PS2, so that might be the bias kicking in...

they held off the online reviews so they can publish them at a date closer to release.

The 2 player mode sounds pretty cool. I guess they added it in for all of the ppl whining about mp. Hopefully multitheftauto can implement one, although considering how huge the game is players may have a hard time finding other players.

No, for some reason Valve finds it necessary to ignore their online community and give print publications priority over internet publications. Gee, wonder what would motivate them to do that?
Actually my guess is that they are trying hard to keep it from getting leaked again before release.

Well, so far San Andreas and HL2 have delivered. Now its time for Halo 2.

Yeah man HL2 all the way, this is just going to hold me off till November 16 :)

You got that right Tork :)

That's exactly what it is doing for me.

It's still going to be an AMAZING game though, and I will definetly come back to play it after HL2.

I'm definately more excited over this than HL2. Mainly because it comes out this week and not a month from now. ;)

It's close enough. The point is that I'll be playing GTA this weekend, and not HL2. :p

Point validated.

Can't wait....should be some good gaming.

Goddamn that sounds good :) (have sold my ps2, though - so must wait for pc or XBox version :/)

Great time to be a games fan.

wow
9.6 is high for gamespot... they're always tough

You make it sound as if a bunch of people sat around and reviewed the game. It was actually only 1 person, and in his opinion, the game was 9.6 worthy. To another gamespot reviewer it might have been 9.0 or 10.

I'm not saying it's not a good game but just for the record those reviews are opinions and should be taken as such. But hey, if you bought the first 2 gta games and liked them, there's a damn good chance you're going to agree with those reviews.

I'd buy this game, or at least rent it, if it wasn't for my PS2 being so old. For whatever reason the first batch of PS2's pushed out onto the market (I picked mine up the first day it was out in the US) have some pretty severe defects when it comes to reading from discs. I can't run Vice City, nor can I run GTAIII, because my system just can't stream information off the disk fast enough. It's quite a pain in the ass, considering the system is only a couple of years old.

Hmm is it only certain games/discs ? if it is i think i know the problem, my old ps2 could only play some games and the rest it couldnt, the middle circle part of your discs, add some scotch tape around it.

here is what im talking about...

is IGN on crack? they gave the game a 9.9 when the sub scores average a 9.6. WTF

Yeah man IGN is weird with scores but whatever... I guess thats a 9.9 for the ps2 consoles, then i can understand.

I think it's Greg Kasavin that's so tough. He mainly reviews really big releases, hence the tough scores. GTA is an exception, and look! A 9.6!
