GTA Weapons and Cars discussion

This is the sort of thing that will get modded in on the PC release. Or maybe even in DLC?

Do you mean bikes, as in racing bikes, super bikes, etc? Because GTA4 will have them, but like the others, no push bikes or actual bicycles.

Not too fussed about cars meself, but for weapons... ah, that said, nor am I too fussed for any specifics. As long as I can survive with something that works, prefrebly an automatic, then I'm game.
 
See these are the sorts of things I know not to get my hopes up about when I saw them.

I'm suuuuper hyped for this game, but I know of many of the things that aren't going to be included and so it makes my hype realistic as I'm not expecting all these things and being disappointed when they don't end up in game.

Though I must say I am a bit bummed about the bicycles not being included.
 
I also am bummed about them, but at least it's still GTA, and that's all that really matters.
 
Oh, I just remembered that you could get bicycles in SA. My bad. Yeah, they were pretty fun - esp. when you became really good at it and could bunny hop really high.

I wonder if we'll see another increase in motorbike awesomeness. The fastest motorbike in GTA3 was the second fastest in VC. The fastest in VC was the second in SA. The fastest in SA is one of my proudest achievements ever.

I managed an entire lap of the map on 4 star wanted level on the fastest bike without falling off once. :E
 
I'm slightly disappointed in the lack of bicycles in GTA IV because in San Andreas there were some areas that were truly awesome for just doing tricks and generally dicking around in. It was almost a game in itself what you could perform on bikes when your skill was high enough (youtube for stunt videos :D ).

Cars and motorbikes though, I suppose if they keep to the GTA template everything will be fine. At least don't make sports cars so fragile they're ruined after like, two crashes.

I dunno, its all based in the present day, which is why we've seen cars that look like Ferraris and DB9s, and the weapons will be similar to todays.

Either way, its going to kick ass, you just know it.

I quite liked the bicycle in SA (currently replaying), however if R* have dropped the whole stamina/strength aspect then I can see there probably isn't much point in having them in there still save for shit & giggles. Maybe they'll add them in with DLC.
 
Rockstar dropped bicycles because they want to maintain Niko's reputation as a real badass and doing bunny hops on a BMX just doesn't fit the image.

I really can't wait to see how they changed car handling and test out the cover system and blind firing! :bounce:

And here's the one thing that could possibly kill the GTA series: It starts to take itself too seriously.

I hope I'm proven wrong and that Rockstar end up pulling this off successfully, but just warning everyone.

Anyway, now that the series' graphics are finally good enough to show the cars' badges, I wonder if and how they'll parody real-life car logos and nameplates.

Also, I expect the old "ghetto" areas of the city to have a bunch of awesome muscle cars. We've already seen a few in the trailers...
 
Will there be real supercars in the game, such as Bugatti Veyron?
 
We don't know, but expect the old supercars to return, such as the Turismo and the Infernus (The latter of which is confirmed).
 
Wow this sounds awsome, makes me regret selling my 360 :(

When does the PC version come out?
 
random question but the screen shots all look like they were painted....any reason?
 
Could be your monitor, the console's colour palette, or shitty .jpeg compression.
