I'm fine with the games having stuff like tanks, parachutes, and attack choppers ... I just don't think it should be part of the story. Hell, I even think the helicopter dogfight mission and incorporating helis into the final mission of the game in GTAIV was too far.
But sure, put em in the game and have little mini-games/side missions with them, but don't let that shit touch the story. I think that would keep everyone happy.
Then again my concerns mainly lie with the fact that it just didn't fit with GTAIV's story or tone. Since this one looks to be a more outlandish spectacle, it might fit in fine with the campaign.
