so today I remembered that I actually never managed to finish guildwars(prophecies). I stopped playing a year, if not more, back when one of arena-net's skill updates completely ****ed over my N/W(changing the skill the build was built around from area affect to single target :hmph: )

I remember still keeping a bit of taps on the game and a couple of major changes was etc etc. anyways...I booted it up today and downloaded a tons of files...the thing is I've forgotten most of everything in the game(gameplay wise) so kinda back to square one, anyways anybody out there still play and want to take me under their wings for a while, till I get up to speed? :bounce:

the longest I got was to the ring of fire mission(I think it was called) with my R/M who I'm now playing around with being R/E... I wouldn't mind replaying a couple of the earlier missions just to get the practice(or elite skills)...not to mention I need another infusion run, since when I originally did it I didn't have the best armor aviable to me....on that note if anyone can donate money or materials to this purpose I'd be grateful...I just need the basic stuff, don't care for the 15k and 25k or what ever they're all called...don't care about vanity items.

anyways if you wanna play post your char names here:

mine:

Agild greenfinger R/E(Mo)

Felg the misfit N/W

Kunan the barber W/Me

Farah firestarter E/N

(I only have prophecies btw, wanna play thru this before getting any of the others)

I've been thinking I wanna get back into this game, but then I remember that I got up to Lvl 20 and the game got so boring for some reason after that.

I really hate the way this game has gone, people would rather group with henchmen and heroes than other players. I can't blame them, but it's still pretty dumb to see an online game where people rarely play with each other.

How can you be out of the loop in gameplay terms? What do you do in that damn game anyways? Run towards enemy, hit X until said enemy dies. That game is so damn boring.

It probably thinks your boring.

I'm sure he was talking about skills to go for, builds, and equipment to go for.

Guild Wars was a multiplayer game? :O

Yeah, I hated when Nightfall introduced heroes into the mix. Now everyone runs around with a 4 above their head and nobody ever groups anymore unless its end-game.

I suppose it's good in a way; people can still finish the game even if they're alone (much like WoW), but even if somebody wants to group they can't because everyone just wants to take hench (unlike WoW)

I recently got back into Guild Wars too. Found it hard to get back into after playing WoW (god damn where is my jump key!!) but after a while I got back to it pretty quickly. The game seems very quiet, not got to the end of Eye of the North yet, maybe thats where everyone is?

Really considering getting back into WoW at the moment. I got to 70 then just felt lost as to where to go? :(

Anyway, my characters are (feel free to add as friend and say hi if you see me online - EU servers):
"Beck D Shaw" - Main - W/
"Beck Shaw" - Alt - R/
and a few others I don't really care about.

Might reinstall GW in the near future, I only have the first game though... never got interested enough to buy the expansions.

Why all the Guild Wars hate?

The Eye That Bleeds - Mes/Necro

I have others, but this is the one I play the most.

Haven't played this for ages, must re-install to get all my third gen presents :)

in a few words

biggest waste of $50 dollars ever.

50$ No way, I think it was a damn good spent 50$. Yeah, I'm bored of it now, but I still got triple more playing time then I would from any other game.

Likewise. This was my longest running single game ever, and kept me entertained for around a year. ?29.99 well spent, I would say.

edit - implement pound sterling ffs, this isn't planet america ya know

not only that but say compared WoW and alot of other MMORPGs, the time is spend actually playing the game and missions, rather than traveling and other "downtime"-esque stuff.

to me it was because there wasn't much purpose to the missions/quest after that, the xp rewards does nothing and since guildwars isn't very gear dependent the item rewards was rarely worth the effort.

so you only did quests for the story and getting the skills(and back when they were still in the game refund points) and in regards to story guildwars is a bit of a weird beast, you got a seperate manual with a very elaborate backstory, unfortunately it doesn't really carry over into the game very well.

Actually, I got "rushed' from lvl 12 on..which probably helps the reason why I find the game boring at lvl 20. I had some lvl 20 guy group with me and some others and just rush me through to the next large cities for the mish's that I didn't understand wtf was going on anyway. I'll have to replay and do all the quests/mish's to get the story down again. It was pretty fun from what I remember....until some ghost on an island appeared..that was bizarre.

Used to love Guild Wars played a few hundred hours on it. But heroes and pointless dis-jointed expansions killed it.

Then hardly anyone wanted to group and everyone was spread across three worlds.

Instead they should have promoted grouping and brought out expansions which allowed you to keep playing your character further ie lvl 20-40

lol haven't played yet... just been checking my chars progress...and staring at the skill list...can't descide what build to use lol.

i got about 8 hours out of it. . which is pretty lousy for a Mehmorpigah
