Just out of curiosity what's so good abot google.ca, since you are in the UK?

Or do you just use it as a backup?

Someone said it was down, so I tested it. It works. Probably never gonna visit it again

Meh I don't care. We still have yahoo, msn and altavista, right? I only use Google because it's the easiest word to type on a keyboard - laziness personified.

Google and Gmail works fine for me, I'm in Canada so that may be playing a role. Maybe Google is disliking Americans now :O

First time in history (at least since they were up), Google is down, and by down I mean everywhere, co.il, co.uk etc... Just won't load.

Following the downtime, all of their services are down as well, news.google.com, GMail and web accelerator, videos and everything other service they have



Google downtime caused a9.com images not to show up, and many other websites that were using Google images or any other services, to have broken pictures, or searches...

Just to be sure I'm not dreaming, I started asking in IRC channels if I was the only one who noticed it, and guess what. They are down.

Yes, GMAIL doesn’t work either.

This means, Google has a DNS problem. And for everyone who doesn't know their IP address or how to check it, their probably in shock and using Yahoo at the moment.

Anyway for the first time in history we can understand what it is without Google

Google will probably hear allot about this unseal downtime, wonder what their comment will be

Google reportedly crashes for some countries; Forward broken

This afternoon GOOGLE crashed; Some countries oddly were reporting that there was no crash for there country.

We can confirm that DNS was responding yet users were unable to access the website or the domains google.com and gmail.com. Since, we've received many reports that the domains have returned.

We have now learned that a broken forward is to blame. Users were still able to connect to Google by IP Address and it worked fine. We are waiting on a comment from Google at this time.

yeah, i thought the same thing when i opened mozilla when i booted up, i thought "google's down? internet's down? oh noes!" and then i saw my little firewall was ok so i thought "hum, that's weird!" and clicked my bookmark to hl2.net so i saw that worked so everything is ok. phew!
