Basically these new drivers improve the framerates by MASSIVELY lowering image quality. there is an animation you can watch which will show u.

Yes you are blind. If you're finding it hard to spot, look at the yellow 'roof' bit on the top right of the ship, there is a black line that goes diagonally down. Watch - in the 4430 and 4523 drivers it is a clear line, in the 5175 drivers it is so blurry and dull you can hardly tell there is a line there.

I posted this on some other forums to help explain it

you can see the textures are all very blurred.....


I pointed out some very noticable spots.

1. Look at these lines notice how they are blurry on the new drivers and very crisp on the old ones.

2. Again you can see the texture is more blurred looking. Overlooking the darkness The lines are not as sharp with the new driver.

3. What is a very defined rust mark in the old driver is harder to notice in the new one. It becomes blended in with the backround and very blurry.

6. Notice the texture on the rocks doesnt seem quite as sharp.

7.The same as #3 but ALOT more noticable.

8. The same as #1 but again ALOT more noticeable.

Agreed, all this "my company is less of a whore than your company" BS will flip 180 if ATi has no competition. Prices will go up, quality down...i dont care how great you think your favorite company is.

But I must admit, even as an NVidia user its nice to see ATi do so well with recent products...they were in a slump for a time too remember...er, well nah dont when NVidia was on top all the Nvidiots were gloatin like the FanATIcs are now.

I don't think it is the end of NVidia because of thier already large base of customers especially newbies. But it will definately drop thier market share at the top end which provide i would imagine alot of the profit.

I noticed a giant difference. On the new drivers,it looks like the ship isn't detailed anymore. DAMN YOU NVIDIA! I'm stuck with them for 3 months
