Half Life 1: Killed a Barney, can't proceed?

In the chapter "Surface Tension", I killed the Barney who lets you into the ammo room in the building where there's a tank and soldiers stationed on the road beside the building. I didn't know that the same Barney is supposed to unlock the doors near the big gun in the area where the chopper is dropping militia.

Is there a way around this? I've tried setting up HL to use the console previously, and yet I couldn't use sv_cheats or spawn any ammo at all. I also don't have a save that is near where I am currently, because my other save is in Blast Pit.

Enable sv_cheats before loading your save.

There are some green ammo boxes you can crouch jump on to reach the gun, in order to bypass he door.

Yes, enable the cheats. Bring up the console and enter "sv_cheats 1". Reload your game and then enter "noclip". Now you can walk through walls. Go inside the building and get the ammo. Then, go out and enter "noclip" to deactivate the cheat, and "sv_cheats 0" to deactivate the cheats at all. Good luck and good play, HL is epic ;D

Don't forget to save often and avoid killing Barneys... they're cool xD
