Half-Life 1 Poly Counts

Hey guys, what are some regular poly counts on models such as player gun models, gun models on the ground, player models and whatnot... I know a bit about the poly counts for HL2, but not HL1...

Depends on the creature, really. The basic player model is around about 600 polys, but as standards have improved, it can probably be much higher. The basic weapons (in hand) are also around about 550 polys. The high-res pack (which I don't have) averages at much higher though.

600 for a HL1 player model? I find that very hard to believe. 200/400 sounds more realistic. As for the guns, I'd say rifles prolly 300 ish again, pistols 100 / 200
 
Barney is 785 polys.
Gordon is 639 polys.
Big Momma is 1508 polys.
The machine gun is 543 polys with the hands.
Pistol is 908 polys with the hands.
Headcrab is 478 polys.
Houndeye is 308 polys.

mods can go pretty high to the limit

guns can be 10k polys w/ hands
 
yep most mods have models around 2000 as default models, u can also split models into different groups so u can compile over the 2k limit
 
hey krayzie, don't forget with HL2 your models won't beable to exceed that high I don't think, becuase of how detailed the environment is... that's just my opinion but that's just me :)
