after watching the video several times, i *definitely* agree that it is the GMan in that dialogue and that he is severely pissed. However, I do not agree that what he is saying is in response to Alex's comment.

I think that somewhere else in the story he's confronted by someone with the phrase "It's over -- give it up" or something to that effect and his response is "we'll see --- about THAT" insofar as he's still not willing to give up.

in previous interviews valve has stated that you play as gordon. until valve says otherwise, we wont play as alyx. theres too much speculation at this point to trust gphoria.

Maybe you first play as alyx untill you find gordon, or maybe you are right and the gphoria host have no idea what they are talking about.

There was speculation when Aftermath was announced that you could/would play as Alyx. Gphoria likely took this as fact (haven't seen them say it myself), and said "You will play as Alyx". You wont play as Alyx, as you can see Alyx in the teaser. It won't change the person you play as, that would be stupid.

On closer inspection, the rubble bit probably doesn't start the game - that cannot be rubble from the citadel because:

a) The citadel is made of exotic metals, not the concrete of City 17's buildings, and
b) the rest of the citadel scenes seem to show very little in the way of structural damage.

it's probably just the end of a bit where you and Alyx become seperated, later in the game. Besides, I strongly dislike the whole "Gordon escapes from nothingness!" idea. G-Man's dialogue is most likely a response to someone else's dialogue, perhaps it ends the game just as "Maybe we still have / Time Doctor Freeman?" ended the main game?

I sure hope aftermath isn't the only expansion they're going to give us, but i'm still hyped to play it!

You are most likely right about the rubble not being from the citadel wreckage, It looks as if it's in a cave/underground really tbh.

As for the rest of the Citadel scenes they are most likely from another citadel in another nearby city. Remember the Combine have Citadels all over the world in most major cities.

However I still believe this expansion and even following expansions will all have cliffhanger endings, and I welcome them. Excellent way to tell a story.

HL3 might be the end of the story or even it might feature a cliffhanger ending, only time will tell.

I clearly remember reading somewhere that you definently play the whole game as Gordon, only that you'll have an A.I. boosted Alyx as a sidekick to help you through the evacuation of City 17. You might be able to issue simple orders to Alyx but other then that she will run her own race reaking havoc with her Alyxgun. Dog will most likely aid now and then as well but Alyx will be with you a lot.

The story was long confirmed to be that the entire of Aftermath is played within City 17, and that the old Citadel is still standing. Other Citadels seem kind of out of the scope of a mere expansion...

Aftermath is set within City 17. The citadel scenes you see are in the citadel from Half-life 2.

lol, now listen, you! If I liked it, then I'd keep it on my HD forever and ever until I look back at the directory long after beating the game and saying, "Why do I still have this?" and deleting it. This is the way of all things.
