Didn't we already know this? I could swear April was already the date that was set when the delay was announced, none of this February or March business.

Interesting note: I searched for Half-Life 2 Platinum, and everywhere I read says it comes with Aftermath. Obviously it's wrong, but that'd be funny, wouldn't it? Shell out $60 now and buy some games you might already have to get Aftermath, or wait until April. Who wouldn't do it, though? :/

Why so much trust in a source that has apparently only just found out that EA is Valve's new publisher? That said, it sounds a credible date. Shame it's a few days into my Summer Uni term, so I probably won't get to play the damned thing until 10 weeks later!

One thought though: this could be the Retail release alone. If Valve premier Aftermath on Steam before that date, I'll be buying it. If they released it on the 18th of April, that would be a whole 11 weeks difference in release dates to me...

After reading an internet report which claimed HL2: Aftermath would be released on the 24th of April while HL2: Platinum would be available much earlier, on the 28th of January, I decided to e-mail Valve Software's Doug Lombardi in order to ask for a confirmation. This is the response I received (many thanks to Doug):

haha probably not. Although we should be very happy that the guys at valve take time to answer our emails at all. Many people "at the top" suddenly become so important, busy and don't have time for their fans anymore.
