I'm not sure what you are trying to acheive, it's not like Valve will have finished it to a fit state to release then just not release it. If they don't think it should be released, it won't be released.

Maybe Vivendi would be delaying the game in order to tap into the Easter Market perhaps?

I hate you. Stop being ignorant and notice that Valve knows its fans want Half-Life 2 soon. They're just doing everything they can to make it the best game they possibly can. Stop bothering them with this crap; "oh look Valve! I have 300 people online who want Half-Life by the end of this year OR ELSE!" Or else what? Are you not going to buy it? Yeah right. Stop it.
