Half life 2 Case mod! (no not "that" one)

It's pretty cool. I like that the other case looked all old and rusty that was cool.

I like this case's look in general, but it doesn't really remind me of Half-Life 2. It's more the industrial, clean, scientific look of Black Mesa from the original Half-Life.

The thing that I didn't like about the other case was that it looked like it was really old/run down/hadn't been used in a long time... whereas City 17 is in the middle of a war. Those two themes may sound similar in concept but they look very different. It was well made, considering his interpretation, but the whole case just looked like it came straight from a junkyard. The only thing that reminded me of a war torn city was the broken glass. The amount of rusted metal in City 17 looks about the same as any other city. I don't know why he went so overboard with it. Things are broken from bullets, explosions, fire, energy blasts, etc. Chunks are taken out of concrete walls and rebar is sticking out of them. The resistance is always on the run and has to use whatever they can get their hands on. Those things need to be taken into account when making a case mod with a HL2 theme. What I would have tried to do is to make it look like a makeshift computer case built from scrap metal (maybe with a couple of bullet holes from a close encounter with a Combine soldier) and/or parts pulled from broken equipment... something that might have been made by the Resistance while on the move.

Kinda hate the masive bulge coming out the back (the hl2 logo), should of been alot smaller

i think it looks tacky, couldn't do it myself, but it looks a bit changing rooms.

I agree but that was a Brit gag that no-one got... :p

I just wish I had the money left over top even worry about the case..

Sigh... the X800 or not... X800 or not...

You don't have to be British to watch Changing Rooms. It is shown on the BBCA, as well. All you need is the basic DirecTV (I'm not sure which other services have it since I've never needed anything else) programming package. In fact, Americans liked it so much we made our own Changing Rooms clone called "Trading Spaces."

I think they are both great. This really captures the diverse nature of gritty realism and the technology involved.

I like them both. Wish I was talented enough to make something like that.

i was just wondering if that was it.. or wether he is still working on it

Here it is what you were looking for... :upstare: That forum with the case for Gabe
(And no, it's some other case...)

Better than "that" one. But I still wouldn't want either.
