Uh, I hope the living in Southeast Asia isn't a requirement of the contest, since I submitted this back on the 3rd. I doubt it will win anything, but since the timing worked out I figured it would be fun.Hey, if you're interested and living in South East Asia I think that Machinimasia (Machinasia? something like that) contest is still up. You could submit this. xD
Thanks, I like those guys, although I just picked something quick for my icon. Besides, it's up against a rubber duck pirate and a combine wearing an SS uniform.Hey Commander Keen! Nice avatar!
Depends on how you look at it. Valve is the one who made all the animations in the game, I didn't come up with custom ones using XSI or anything, that would be a hell of a lot more work. However, I'm the one who put all that together. For instance, Dave's ninja stance is the model holding the machinegun, minus the gun; also when he says "Ninja moves!" that's the animation for firing a flaregun. But except for Dave's voice, the title music, and the content that came with Half-Life 2, I did everything you see/hear in the video.Great work, did you animate the characters then?
Here is a movie I made and uploaded to YouTube.

What I'm demonstrating here is the difference in quality and effort, time and dedication. Sadly, I have none of these and resort to a rather wonky, childlike FRAPS grab with some tunes and words dubbed over it.
Great work mate, looking forward to the next episode.
wtf.....was that????
Pure shit.
If you're doing a music video, you have a lot more and easier options than the Source SDK. I say this was my first machinima, but that's because it has written dialogue, virtual actors, etc. I actually did one other video that might count as such, it was a music video using footage from the game Bloodrayne to the song "Vampires" by Godsmack. All it is is footage recorded using fraps and synced up to the music. You might have much better luck using a game that would work with the song you had in mind. What I'm demonstrating here is the difference in quality and effort, time and dedication. Sadly, I have none of these and resort to a rather wonky, childlike FRAPS grab with some tunes and words dubbed over it.
Oh come on, no need to be so harsh on it, the guy already said it wasn't that great, it's not like he's claiming this is Oscar material.Pure shit.
Ha, yeah right. Like I'm going to hold myself to a deadline on this. I've got the script written now and I plan to record the voices this weekend and work on it over Thanksgiving break. We'll see how long it takes. When is episode 2?
It's weird, because when I see it, I notice about 20 things I should have done better. The most professional one I've seen has to be that I'm Still Seeing Breen video. The edits that guy does are just sick.Brilliant. Welcome to the forums. That has got to be one of the most professional machinimas I have seen.
Yeah, I was gonna say, you have my sympathies. This is only funny to watch because it's not our problem.my friend today kept quoting dave, with all of the ninja moves.
