edit: http://www.hl2mp-mod.de.vu/

a) No link
b) That maps been out for ages

i like when you realize this is just a GUI for a couple of console commands and a crappy map made by someone else

Its not bad actually, if you could get some people and servers up :p

Im pretty disapointed that Valve didnt model Gordon (and the HEV suit is pretty poorly textured too).

Team Death Match?

If thats what you mean...then i'll have to point you to another mod...Counter Strike Source

starting a server, IP is *****

nothing to see here, it's the same hot air we're accustomed to

In the "new models" the animations still don't work so it's feels as retarded anyway ;p

Hoping against hope that someday they will upgrade Team Fortress.

Anyone remember the conversation we all had a while back regarding the problems if more than one team tried to develop a "definitive" deathmatch mod?

"NeoLife is better!"
"No, Half-Deathmatch all the way!"
"omg Svenmatch is like dm, but with svens"
"Oblivionmatch forever!"
"Oh f*ck this I'm going to play something else."

does this mean u dont like team fortress? or the other way around

They are already working on Team Fortress 2 thats why there is no source version of Team Fortress Classic :)

Looking forward to that one myself too :)

TF2 and TFC are completely different games

Found two bugs - one an engine bug and the other a mod bug?

The barrel in the water (in this map atleast, havent tested elsewhere) refracts but where the metal refracts the barrel is outlined with a strong white (almost like the barrel texture is scewed and the underlying model remains as a solid white).

The second was the manipulator being part of every gun after use - mod problem?

you have to post these everywhere ?
what can we do about it ?
this "mp" is not even official, it's completely alpha and unsupported. you're not even supposed to play it !

a) Posted it in the wrong thread before, as I said.
b) If I dont point it out how the hell are the modders supposed to fix it.

What are you? Fcking Einstein gone backwards?

1) insulting detracts from your points (as if they counted anyway)
2) know what you are talking about. "modders", as of now, can't do ANYTHING about this, and i mean ANYTHING. and the mp will be either started off from scratch, from CS:S or will be released as an "example multiplayer" with the full SDK. NOTHING will EVER be done from this "mp" as it is basically a 1+ year old buggy scrap of a netcode.

Thats funny because modders HAVE done something about it and if CSS was going to be used dont you think we'd have been playing it through CSS and not HL2 over the past few days?

Ill insult you all I want, make stupid comments such as

"this "mp" is not even official, it's completely alpha and unsupported. you're not even supposed to play it !"

deserves it. For starters the maps can be made using the hammer through steam with some tweaking and besides that HL2 has the files to support MP - does it really matter where it was made?

2) know what you are talking about, and understand what you read.

let me rephrase this : NO ONE can do ANYTHING about the things you posted as of now, BECAUSE :

a)what has been done is just give a GUI to console commands. you can tweak a few things there and there, such as changing enemy health or changing a model because it's just a text file you mess with, or you just replace a model with another.
the things you mentioned, however, are very different. they require going through the actual netcode, and debugging. that is possible, but there is a slight problem you obviously have missed : the full sdk wich lets you do that is not out yet. so no big changes are coming out before that.

b)the fact that HL2 DM should be more based on CS for example, rather than what we have now is because what CS has is talk support, a working respawn system, and basically is something that doesn't crash everytime someone tries to do something too wild, just to name a few things. why ? because the netcode has been finalized and is something that can be a base for something, in the same way CS was based on HL DM's netcode (or any other mod, for that matter).
on the other hand, the thing we have as HL2 DM is something that was never meant to be played, because as i said before, it's just a scratch. you have nothing there besides bugs and missing basical features. it's old and buggy. nothing should come out of it since it's unfinished, and was never meant to be finished. think of it as a prototype for something that was dropped for any reason. < these are the files that HL2 supports you mention

you obviously have little grasp of what is going on.

1.Copy the hl2mp directory in
X:\Steam\SteamApps\YOURACCOUNT NAME\half-life 2\

2.Make a shortdoc from the hl2.exe
and set the parameter "-applaunch 220 -game hl2mp -console"

3.Now start the shortdoc
and have fun

how do i create a shortdoc?
tnx

You're aware of that you insulted him by saying that?
I don't think this is something to hope for, the other DM mods seem more promising.

So basically your saying everyone should sit here twiddling their thumbs waiting for Valve todo it.

PFFT.

certainly, that's EXACTLY what i said. thanks for telling me how i should have put it, your sentence is much more effective than what i said.

now i see why i am still arguing with you. you don't really read what other people say, do you ?

how do I install the mod?

also, why doesn't valve release the rest of the damn SDK already? or was that delayed
