Half-Life 2 Demo on Thursday?

I know, this SHOULD be in rumours and speculation.. but, I'm hoping for a footprint when it gets moved

The description certainly sounds like it could be HL2, just thought I'd give you guys the heads up.. :)

I'm hopeful, and it'd be very very cool if this is what VALVe has planned for us rabid HL2 fans

Edit: On second look, it could also be Deus Ex 2.. we'll just have to wait and see

Edit 2: "The War" makes me think even moreso that it's a Deus Ex 2 demo.. argggh, my hope has diminished

Bribe? That doesn't sound like HL2.

Although, "more than 30 game of the year awards" does.

Still, I doubt it's HL2. Valve has stated that they wouldn't make a demo till the game is done and out.
 
..bah, I know, I'm just far too optimistic and hopeful.. did Deus Ex get 30 GOTY awards? lol
 
lol, yeah yeah.. I got too excited and posted before thinking it out.. oh well. This can be locked.. or a mod can change the title to DX2 demo and move it to off topic :)
 
Yeah, I was thinking it was DX2 as well.

EDIT: When is that supposed to be out anyway?
 
Nah, a DX2 demo would be cool as well, but I jumped the gun and told myself it was HL2

I don't mean to be rude, but how did you confuse "future war on terror," with "earth picked to bone, resources depleted, etc?"
 
Shuzer you should reaaaaaally try playing Deus Ex. I also thought it was really quite boring in the beginning, but I forced myself to continue anyway even if it felt like an awful game. After the first couple of (boring) levels I just couldn't let go any more. The plot just captured me, and even if it is clichey, the way it is told is just amazing. You're really missing out! I just started playing it from the beginning again a few weeks ago, and I still love it.

Yep... Valve also stated numerous times that the game will be released on September 30th.
 
Yep... it's Deus Ex 2: Invisible War. I think it's been confirmed... not 100% sure, though.

lol, well.. you see, there was a hype behind me hearing about this. I was playing CS, and my friend came in the server I was on all "There's a HL2 demo coming out on the 20th!" so, I hopped outta CS, he linked me, I read it over quick, and jumped to a (stupid) conclusion :)

And, besides, as far as you know, combine are terrorists, and you're fighting them :)
 
Actually, all evidence points to the Combine having control of the world.
