Half-Life 2 engine licensed for MMORPG

The Valve Source engine technology, the same used to create Half-Life 2, gives developers the ability to create expressive digital actors and physically simulated worlds. It also offers advanced rendering capabilities and the industry's most convincing artificial intelligence.

Smiling Gator Productions joins Troika Games and Arkane Studios as announced Source licensees. Source is designed for the creation of games from all genres, and contains a host of proprietary tools for level editing, character direction and more.

interesting... the source engine being used for a MMORPG.
i wonder if the licensing for source engine will pick up once HL2 is released.
common sense says it would.. but who knows really
 
:naughty: Wow, pretty cool. Cool physics in a MMORPG, didn't Valve say that Source contains an environmental and physics engine or something before too? If that's true, MMORPG= environmentals to the fullest! Dang, I can't think of the possibilites that Source might bring into MMORPG!

Although, I probably won't get it, that MMORPG that is.

Never heard of "Smiling Gator Productions" before, but the idea of MMORPG running on Source makes me feel all warm and stiff in my tropical area.

I don't think that is ingame though. It looks like it's just a pre-rendered concept video and not an in-engine sequence.
 
That is gonna be great. At least there's a lot of possibilities on source. Lot's of potential. It's going to be interesting:)
