Half Life 2 episode 1 Crash Error

Hi, I just bought a standalone copy of Half Life 2 Episode 1. I installed the game and started playing. Loading until the game works fine but there is something wrong with it. Every time after playing it for a while, the game crashes and the error message: hl2.exe has encountered a problem and was forced to close blah blah blah.

I have already set everything to the lowest but it still crashes randomly. I also found out something, when Alex was thinking of a way to enter the Citadel, I looked up at the sky and it was very blur(when you turn around while looking at the sky, it was like the sky kept flicking and there was a lot of repetition of the certain sky) I don't quite know how to describe it. Some objects also has purple color stuff on it.

PS: Do not tell me to reinstall the game because I have done it already.

My specs are:
Windows XP Home Edition SP2
Intel Dual-Core T2300 1.66GHZ
2GB of RAM
160GB of HD
Intel 945GM Express Chipset

Please help me. I really wanted to play this game!!!

I find it interesting that you've omitted the fact that you're not using Steam, as with your original thread.

You want to play this game that badly? You're gonna need Steam.

I had that problem when my wirless went out and couldn't connect to steam
