Everything is going to be fixed, don't worry.
source? or are you just being optimistic? (I agree, don't worry, but I'd be good to know if valve have responded)

Honestly, Polaris is completely right. How long do you need to use Steam / Play Valve games for before people realise that Valve do fix things and release updates frequently.source? or are you just being optimistic? (I agree, don't worry, but I'd be good to know if valve have responded)
Yes they are! You can play now.So, are the colour-coded shotgun soldiers in yet? For some reason, they are essential for my participation.
Steam needs to be running, but it has an offline mode you can either manually set or get shunted over to if your connection goes down. Won't work if you haven't updated the game to 100% though. Stuff like achievements may not work properly in offline mode (not sure), but people played the games for five and a half years without that bothering them before.Do you have to have steam running or be connected to the internet to play half life games? My computer has internet problems so I cant stay connected for a long time...so I dont know if I can get the updates downloaded or even get the game running.
Either a week, or two years. How long do you guys think it will take valve to fix all the glitches?
Breen's broken animation is pretty damn funny.
Just beat the game. Looks like there's a secret achievement for when you do it.
What is the secret achievement?
Achievements are not registered while offline. You can't even get achievement progress. I like that TBH because it gives you a way to play without having to worry about achievements distracting you (basically the first time you play when you want to be as immersed as possible).Steam needs to be running, but it has an offline mode you can either manually set or get shunted over to if your connection goes down. OK, as psyched as I am by this update (I am now replaying HL2 for the first time in ages and it looks SWEET, and I'm gonna do an achievement run on Ep1 and Ep2 afterwards, and I've got almost all the achievements in Portal too, oh gosh), you're not entirely right.I just want to point out that this update was completely free, so it's all gravy! Don't take for granted Valve's generosity in continually providing regular free content and upgrades to their games.
If its broken for us its probably broken for the Mac users too. Don't forget the Mac users are buying these games now, NEW. It doesn't look good when you buy a new game which is really buggy. Steam Play dictates consistency and compatibility between the versions, therefore...expect fixes soon. Happy days!
you're a little late.
no seriously, what's the secret achievement? does it have anything to do with EP3 or portal 2 n' shit?
TELL ME! before I kill another hostage!
I think that's been offset by the fact that this update has been promised for exactly the same length of time. Or perhaps people are actually looking at the massive lead times for every other Half-Life game in history and drawing sensible conclusions for once.I'm surprised nobody hasn't yet responded like "hey, they took their time to do this but there's no news about EP3 yet?!? WTF etc."
Am I the only one not having any of these graphical bugs? So far all I've seen is one scripted event that didn't trigger.
Found it, but now it seems I still missed one... Oh, in case you didn't know: achievements are off when cheats are on. Obvious, I know, but still I thought noclip for faster backtracking would be OK...Missed quite a few of the lambda caches, but after getting a guide, I still can't get lambda cache 18 on my PC version of HL2... Anyone had problems with that as well?
