Half-life 2 Expansions

So, what scenarios would you like to see explored?

What else is there?

Seriously some nice ideas were there, and no matter which scenarios Valve explored, it's should relate with some Half Life saga.

1) Seven hours war : wtf would have happened in seven hours war? Might we can see some really big Giants rather than strider's OR gunships. Which technology they would have used to conquered the Earth? IMO combine have still not shown their full power, main thing who is the Boss of Combines? (Exploring that part, we have still seen only Combine advisor) a giant Robot or some Android or might be like SHODAN .

2) A Rebel part: It would be a fun and great too to play that part, basically how they have manage their team on specific locations? To fight with Combines, main thing how they are sustaining their life in however so called city 17 or any part of Earth? I have played too Freedom Fighter it's a nice game basically for controlling the squads. It's fun to control the squads and you can place wherever you want.

3) Vortiguants: What key role they are playing with Human Resistance to fighting with Combines, as we already know they can speak English and chat telepathically is there, they can still chat with Xen species. What is most surprising they are controlling G-man that would be sexiest part if they chat with G-man or Combine advisor.

I would like to open the Vortiguant side, which I think it will be more enjoyable and unveil the Half Life Saga.

Seven Hour War would be pretty cool.It could go something like this - finally humans ally with Vortigaunts to clean up Earth from different scum like headcrabs. And how ironic, then the Combine invade. The First Hour starts.Of course, human leaders presume the Combine were rought to Earth by Vortigaunts and start a Vort hunt(woot,Vort killing!pWnage!).When they understand that the Combine could no way be controlled by Vorts,it's almost too late. You're sent with a squad to the Vorts. When you get there, you're way is blocked by a type of blue force field and you see some purple Vorts.Everyon turns blank. The next thing you know, you're back in the city.In the end, you're surrownded by portals throw which Combine whatever-the-Combine'll-use are coming throw. The only thing to do now is to grab your gun and take down as much alien scum as you can. Then something nearly kills(can't come up with anything that could do that). The last thing you here is that female voice that keeps appearing in Half-Life 2,telling that Earth surrendered.

I also fantasied about a Expansion where you play as a Metro Cop.At the start of the game you arrive to that train station from Point Insertion in a razor train(from Nova Prospekt, possibly) and you start beating people up with your stun stick.I'll come up with the rest tomorrow.

i like the idea of diffrent points of view in the seven hour war with one being a civilian and trying to escape the invasion and stay alive alot less run and gun mabye a bit more puzzle solving, mabye even a tiny bit of steal ex. combine on patroll and having to get around unoticed. and the secound idea of being a soldier or even mabye a dishonnorbly discharged soldier and run gun fps, also i think one thing the expansions need to do is to make the levels a bit more free roaming with diffrent options on how to approach an objective alot like deus ex

If its all about stealth he could just get in a box and run about.
Half-Life: Solid Snake :p

I think that the portal storms and 7 Hour War would make a better film than game.

I think that the portal storms and 7 Hour War could make a better film than game, but since game to film adaptations are always a putrid puddle of wank, and the development team actually includes a novelist, a novel would be preferable
Fixed :P

I'm leaning towards the Lost week. I think it has alot of potential. First, there's Barney, and everyone loves Barney, and he most certainly plays an important role in the Street War (you wouldn't play as him, but there's the NPC co-op aspect). Secondly, as a 'gameplay' focus we have squad commands. They were there in HL2, but lets face it: most players used them to send the citizens to the other end of the map. I think an emphasis on squad dynamics would play a key part in such an expansion, take Freedom Fighters for instance, a great game with great squad dynamics. Something like that working smoothly within a First person shooter would be so good, and it's definitely an aspect Valve need to improve on.
Would love to hear some Citizen/Rebel dialogue, discussing how the rebellion came about, that would be great in Episode 2, how they got hold of news that C17's coast was being seized by one man.

The Seven Hour war, obviously.
I wanna see more of what we see in Dr. Kleiner's lab, pictures of Earth getting 'pwned' by the Combine.

I think a good one would be a video stream ( probably from an ancient video player in Kleiner/Eli's lab ) of the White House being destroyed, just like it is in Independance Day. Would love to see what role Barney, Eli & Kleiner were playing during the 7 hour war, and did they realize they would later become resistance leaders.
