Half-life 2 Gold edition - get it on CD or just downloadable? :S

Question: I want the gold Package so badly but i dont want it downloaded. i want to put the CD in my CD rom and press install etc. if you know what i mean . Is there any possiblity i can get the GOLD thing in a store or something?.. or is the gold the Collectors edition just renamed for the store? :dork:

You can download it, and make an installer with the 1st party backup utility in steam.

Or you can get someone else to do so.

Afterwards you can burn it down on a cd/dvd

So nope there won't be any of that

there is only 2 options for retail
1:just half-life 2 nothing else
and 2: the collectors edition with cs:s hl:s tshirt and a book

That page lists the different versions, If you buy it over steam you have to download it.

So if you're on 56k retail is the only way to go, or get a friend to burn you the half-life 2 gcf files.

It's a shame you can't get a voucher inside either the standard or the CE version to 'upgrade' to Gold.

Very well, but you had wrong too when you said that standard retail only contains HL2. It contains CS:S too.
