Nothing realy happens in the game, Gordon is in a simulator. Like in the movie "The Thirteenth Floor". You just "pop" in at the begining and in the end it pauses and is turned off and the G-man speaks to you whilst you sitt in the simulator and then he walks out of the simulator room.

(Maby a bit far fetched I know, but still)

Very far, hahaha!

Half Life is a science fiction game. As much as twists are to come, I don't think anything as grand as that though. ;)

That would be the worst possible ending if they pulled something like that in Half Life 3.

It's about as good as waking up at the end of the game at Gordon's house and you find out he's married and that the whole thing was a dream.

Yes, it would be a bad ending but Half Life games don´t realy have a history of good endings.

Lol, this really, really sounds like Breakdown. Wich is a great game btw.

There is some value to this (especially if you read what the Vorts say), but it would be such a terrible ending I dont think Valve would go down this road.

Why, because they leave you guessing? Those endings are my favorite kind!

That ending would be as bad as a character waking up in the end of a movie… or Jesus returning and sending all of the people who used their rational god given intellect to hell. Bummer. :flame:

The only time endings like that don't suck are when you see lots of little signs pointing you to it throughout the game. In this one, you really don't, or you'd be able to point to them.

you goofs ...like the series "LOST" ...Halflife will never end theres too much money to be made

I too like endings where you are left guessing. But the endings in Half Life 1, Opposing Force, Blue Shift (not soo much) and now Half Life 2 don't just leave you guessing, they leave you like "what!!!, thats it!!!"

lol.

AND after saving the world, Gordon woke up. He then masterbated and went back to sleep.

A friend of mine made an interesting observation. A half-life is the time it takes for half of a substance to react, dissapear, etc. Eg. Start with 1g, after 1HL you have 0.5g, after another you have 0.25g. It never reaches 0g, except at infinity.

Therefore, if Half-Life the game is like Half-Life in physics and chemistry, there will be no end to the number of half-life games released.

Just an interesting thing to ponder. Don't think that would happen though.

Yes HL2 is a simulation. You're just training to fight the combine/breen.

Hl3 will be when you're actually ready to fight them.
so basically it's the same as HL2. Only it looks more realistic.

:cheese:

Unless he's married to Alyx.

haha . a wife, a dog, a father in law and a gman. sounds interesting

to be honest an alternate ending like that wouldn't be to bad if your a given the option of a good ending as well.
