Half life 2 is around the corner will you buy???

I guess it`s preety dumped to ask this in an HL2 Fourm but let`s see how many of you are actully gonna pay to play.
Personally im gonna but HL2 but... im gonna download it too... why? i live in IL in Israel theres one company that ships game It`s called "Head harzi" and they are stupid, some games come here a year after they out on the american market (thats why im leaving israel as soon as i can.).
anyway im gonna buy it when it gets here and download so i can enjoy it... i feel devs shoud be payed for thier work, as a designer i sure know the pain of stealing etc. so i am gonna pay to play.

Now you? HL2 Coming soon are you gonna pay to play?
 
If I understand what you are trying to say, then yes, I will pay and not pirate.
 
I have an ATI coupon im using for the steam download, and ill be picking up the collectors edition later.
 
Yes, definately. Not only because I will be able to enjoy the multiplayer, but I also wanna support Valve. Also, I'm kinda against piratism. I've never downloaded a game, and I won't. I have however downloaded music, but I don't dl whole albums and then burn them into CDs. If some band sounds good, I download couple of their songs and then if I like it go to the store and crab their CD. This post has almost nothing to do with the thread title.

Besides, Steam makes it allmost impossible to pirate ,unless you disconnect your internet connection, and even then you're limited to offline play.

Pay to play works, but only if the game is worthwhile, and HL2 is all that and then some ;)
 
I'm resisting the temptation to say duh, but I'll be good and say yes.
 
Yup, I'll be buying the game....


After this long I will pay absolutly anything for it!!

Including a kidney!!!
 
First im gonna wait to see the very first posts in these forums by people, who have bought the game :)
if they say its totaly awesome, I will buy it.
 
I got the game free with my Radeon 9800 XT :D

If i will see the game is like OMG OMG OMFG , and the spacial edition will have good things to offer i will also buy it later.
 
I will buy it. We all should buy it in all 3 or (with the Collectors Edition) 4 packages of HL2 .. because they are so damn friendly to us, to answer our mails and to make the best game in this world :)

If there's ONE game that deserves to be paid for, it's Half-life 2.

Therefore, from the first announcement of hl2, I'm determined to buy it :)
 
I'm gonna buy it of course. Going to get the fancy one if I can and if it isn't too rediculously priced. No way am I EVER going to buy something over steam. Even if it is 100% reliable, I still feel better and safer having the game I can physically touch, backup, on CD. Plus I want the nifty box :E
 
are you guys gonna buy it no matter what, or are you going to wait for some official word on if the game is good enough, i mean the worst thing to happen to hl2 would be that it worked great but played like crap
 
I think I trust the previews we have allready to be honest. And I trust valve to make another great game.

Are you kidding me? Seriously, is this a joke? Of course I will buy HL2. That's why I am here. Everyone here is going to buy it except the Doom 3 fanboys.

No, I won't pirate it. I never have pirated a game anyway.

read that label a bit closer.

Ill buy it as soon as its out.

though i may download it warez style if its released in the US first and Uk a week later.... (although ive seen valve say they want to do a global release so this probably wont be necesarry.
 
guys just say no to pirateing, just say no.......

Steam will have the fastest release/play timeframe

I think anyone who buys through Steam will pretty much get it at the same time as everyone else. There's no reason to let certain regions get it before anybody else.

You can get it the moment its out. In fact, you'll be able to preload it like a week before its actually released, so its ready to play the moment it gets activated while others must at least wait until the stores are open/have it in stock.

OT: Of course I'll buy it, duh. And even if the game turns out to be disappointing (unlikely, but possible) I'll still buy it for the mods.
 
No I wont buy it, I think I will just sit in the forums and go "Is it good? Is it??"

Duh.. Of coruse I'll buy it.

This is pretty much the case for games in general. A lot of people call themselves 'gamers' but are too cheap to ever buy one. What kind of gamer are you if you don't even want to spend money on your hobby?
 
Yes, I'm definitely buying HL2, why else would I be registered to an HL2 fan site ;/
 
But yeah, HL2 definetly deserves to be bought. Valve deserves it. I might DL doom 3....but probably will buy it
 
Im buying two copies (for my lan)
one special edition, and one box with G-man on it.

I see your situation sucks, however thats why steam will allow you to pay for it AND download, legally.
do that instead.

if you dont want to buy it through steam because you want the box etc, just do the monthly plan till it is released in your country.

And they arent that much more expensive than buying it normally.
 
I will buy it, any game thats been in the shop longer than 5 yrs has got to be worth the 50 bucks.. right?
 
I'm willing to pay money for this game. It looks freakin awesome.

I'll probably end up buying the collector's edition.
