Half Life 2 keeps freezing on my HP! At same spot!

I have an HP Pavillion zx5000 with current video drivers and the game keeps freezing at the same point. Video card is ATI Mobility Radeon 9600. Right after Mr. what's hisname says "I could swear it was Gordon Freeman. Why is my laptop doing this?

There is nothing blocking the fans. My comp runs Far Cry perfectly. What the hell is wrong with it?
