Half-Life 2 main menu screen?

Why do people feel the need to post leaked shots thinking they are new/whatever.
 
There's a real picture of the HL2 menu somwhere, I think it had the citedel in the background. However a visitor to the Valve offices said that the HL2 menu is/was animated in 3D.
 
That picture was made even before the beta leak, it was done with just the source and a wallpaper. (people compiled it themselves)
 
That combine is not the best concept art piece either :eek:
 
It looks just like HL1 kind of. I dont like it. Did you know that anyone can enter Valve offices? You just have to reserve. SO many people have gone in.

The new menu screen is supposedly animated and rendered in real-time. It shows the backdrop of city 17.

The beta one was crap, glad they changed it.
 
I still think that that picture should be deleted, or atleast the link censored.

Why do people do this :(
 
i was gonna delete this right after i posted it because it was a pretty dumb thing to do, but theres no edit button......

The source code was released first. Which compiled into a working program, yet there was no art at all. About 2 days later they released all the art/models/sounds. Besides, it still wasn't a beta... It was a leak without an official status.

And there is absolutely no reason for it to be taken down. All the art from the image was CUSTOM made.
I always wondered why censorship got out of hand and I suppose it's because of people like you guys -_-.
 
I think the Gamespy vid from E32k4 had the HL2 menu screen. Very pretty. It's a bit like the CS:S menu screen, but with a 3D background, I think.
 
You can basically tell it's fake. Look at the top. Says Half-Life not Half-Life 2.
 
I think Gabe did mention that Half-Life 2's main menu screen would look somewhat like Steam's Half-Life menu.
 
E3 2004 Vid showed the screen they were using at the time and it was a lot better than that one. THAT's a photoshoped piece of crap.
 
To all the naysayers out there, Please listen carefully. That is a REAL screenshot of a bunch of crappy textures some person in an IRC chatroom made and yes, the Half-Life 2 leak still said Half-Life in the upper-left corner.

No, I am not against it in any way. I just wondered why it hadn't been taken down, like anything else related to the leak probably would have... art/whatever, it is still compiled code of what was leaked, and I don't think screenshots of it should be posted.
 
And also, by your logic, its ok if I post some screenshots of HL2, as long as I use custom textures and models? Thanks!
