Co-op battles against striders and combine would be great, but I suppose that's closer to Sven Co-op's territory.
 
I have said this many times, but I will do it again.
An objective based game like BF1942 with combine vs resistance.
 
maps that revolve around hl2 in general....

would like to play as combine soldier,combine elite, and metro police. and all the citizens in the game.

I can imagine a map starting off, with someone drawn at random, flying a combine dropship with the rest of the combine team on board to a certain location. Then the citizens come in and etc... etc.. etc..

driveable apc? heli? strider maybe? :)
 
I want to see Coop and mods based on what Foxtrot and Eat-Fresh said. Even though I dont like games like BF1942. Still be cool though.
 
If possible i would like to complete hl2 with my friends :p so I would be happy to see somekind co-op in multiplayer and maybe some nice maps with lots of cars and stuff ^^
 
As well as all other gameplay modes, just simple deathmatch.
HLDM style, but with HL2 weapons.

100% Behind this.

1. Capture spawn points (Like BF1942), objective based maps, CTF, Assault/Defend, king of the hill, Team Death Match, etc... also get ideas from MP games like GoldenEye 007, Conkers, UT2004, etc... all have good examples of MP games. I would love a king of the hill where when you are the top dog you get the "best" gun from the end of HL2... only one of those on the map... that would be insane.

2. Use the HL2 graphic assets. Not only would it look great, but would make the game much easier to make. HL2 has the neat towers, sentry stations, and on and on and on... Anyhow, I am sure someone could make it so the striders and drop ships could be piloted (make them like helo controls).

3. City 17 vs. Combine. 'Nuff Said!

This could be totally awesome if done, and done right.

lots of modes for a HL2 themed MP.

DM, TDM, CTF, LMS, Co-op.. theres tons of ideas.
 
I'm looking forward to Sven Coop (2). Fighting striders, combine, zombies, etc. with a bunch of other human players will be AWESOME.
 
definitely dm battles involving both gravity guns :D that would pwn too much. also, every character playable, combines, breen, citizens, alyx, gordon, kleiner, stalkers, combine elite etc etc etc

also a cool thing to do would be capture the ball, in normal games you would just have to walk over it but in this you have to pick it up (no grav gun) and no guns, just nades :D

also gravity gun ball (see editing section) and the thing where you have scraps and you weld them to a buggy on with physgun then the two teams building them face the buggies off :D

there is a map in TFC thats like this called PUSH. a fun game. the grav gun added to that would be sweet IMO. :E
 
Combine vs Resistance with DOD style gameplay sounds nice.

I also have to agree with this guy. This was the first thing that came to mind when I started playing HL2 with my fellow Resistance fighters.

It would be awesome to have an Assault mode with a Nova Prospekt map. Imagine the Combine holding the prison while the Resistance fighters tried to overrun the facility. That would be beyond sweet.

WHY IN THE HELL DIDN"T VALVE DO THIS!!!???

It would have been a whole lot better than CS:S. I want MP in the Half Life universe. :frown:

A mini deathmatch mod:

Buggy death-match. There would always be enough buggies for every player and everyone would have just the buggy-gun and the manipulator as weapons. The trick of course as a result would be to force people to flip over by either crashing into them or using the manipulator and then trying to kill them when they come out of the buggy to flip it back upright.

It could get rather interesting.
 
i always thought it would be cool to do a starship troopers thing. like a bunker getting assaulted by waves of antlions and other things, would be awesome imo
 
id like to see some form of traps...more to the point balconies that you can blow the supports out and have the person fall to thier death..or things to drop barrells on ppl. and yes i do realize that ppl will figure them out and they wont work as well but it still would be cool.
 
Just give me old style HL DM with doublecross, prox mines and lots of junk to play physics with and I'm happy!
 
:naughty: A TDM where you play through a side-quest if you will, so sort of like a story- but you can only do it online(something like, okay we need to clear a path for Barney and so and so's group... we must defend this, plant that etc etc.). Combine vs. Resistance and resistance get customizable models and stuff, while Combine get ranks and stuff. Combining elements of Battlefield or something adding flavor into it.

I think it'd be better to have objectives that both sides have to do at one time. Instead of a group having to defend a location and one group has to rush it... that gets lame and ends up in campfests and whatnot. So add obj's like you have to create a blockade here, but while you're at it you have to plant a bomb here, something that makes you split your team into groups to complete each OBJ and enabling you to win the match or scene. Since it has a story element to it, each loss or win leads to multiple different scenarios. Such as: Okay the resistance broke into this Combine facility, and blow up some machiney in one match(scene) but lost/failed in this match/scene, thus making an alternate scene/match that follows up.

I like what ailevation was saying. Also something like UT2004's Onslaught mode would be amazing in City 17. Imagine the Combine having to control the power plants in an area while the Resistance needs to capture them to shut them down. This could continue until one side got to either Kleiner's or The Citadel So Thoughtfully Provided for Us By Our Benefactors.

i could NOT agree more, this is EXACTLY the kind of game i would wanna play, mabey you could have 1:00minute to customize the base (set turrets, boxes, barrels, ect ect) then waves of zombies and antlions and mabey striders, getting harder and harder as the waves progress! Super fun! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! :rolling:
 
Yep Combine V. Resistance objective-based would rock.

All the textures and models are there already. Don't need any new models or textures, just code, I guess.

Drivable combine vehicles on some maps might be cool, but There's no equivalents on the Resistance side, so might be kinda weird, even if it was possible.

:cheers: All you need to do on resistance side is to be able to jack Combine vehicles. That's the only way to keep every player satisfied without adding things out of nowhere that wasn't even seen in SP. If you think that's "lame" then here's a more lame alternative... only resistance fighters get Rocket Launcher, but Combine only get vehicles, just like in SP. So, the balance in this case would be you can destroy the vehicles(resistance) with a couple of rockets. Or Combine be able to man vehicles and slaughter quite a few players.

Are Striders or Gunships or supplyships even manned by Combine, or are they living organisms that are bossed around by Combine?
 
in case you didn´t know: I need my daily dose of a CTF Well map from Team Fortress ported to HL2 TFC2. When will it come?
 
TF2 sounds great. However, I'm basing this off my experience with TFC which wasn't the same as TF.

the last time i saw pics of TF2 it was before all the army/war games came out making vehicular/class/objectives standard. TF2 promised a lot of new things that arn't so revolutionary anymore :'( Hope it balances wackiness of TFC with the military impression the screens gave me.

Lot of people were expecting combine vs rebels with goals, this isn't anything new, but yes i'd like to see it.

City fights sound fun, but huge maps fighting over a stretch of freeway sounds cool. Or take boats along the coast to get to the enemy side. whatever
