Half-life 2 release date

Hi,


I was checking different online shop to pre-order half-life 2 and i saw that the release date is not the same for all countries.. is it me or the UK get it first at September 30th from amazon.co.uk and for the us and canada it only comes out November 15th from EA shop... how come?? any explanation please?
