Guess who just got HL2?
...
ME! - finally after waiting 2 years for this release, after finishing my last exam, I just got HL2 in the post this morning
Unfortunately, there was one small problem. I don't have a DVD-ROM drive... I knew it was a DVD-ROM version when I bought it, because there was no CD-ROM versions, and I thought, "wth, why not get it anyways, we have 3 DVD-ROM drives anyway elsewhere". So I got it, and having opened it and gauped at it, and convinced myself it wasn't a dream or mirage, I decided to put it on CD and install it on the main computer. (See, we have 2 laptops, a main desktop and another computer in another house - every single one has a DVD-ROM drive except the main one). I managed to copy the DVD contents over to the laptop and then attempted to span it on several disks, and of course, being the crappy laptop it is, it didn't work. I then attempted to copy those contents onto the main computer and create a virtual CD. But of course, being the crappy freeware VCD, you need the disk inserted to do it... and of course, thats a problem. The network isn't working, so I couldn't run it off the laptop's drive.
I have finally decided to the easy option - taking the DVD-ROM drive from the other crappy computer, and putting it in the main computer :hmph: .
I still haven't played it, and I feel so depressed coz of that :dozey: .
But just staring at the cover for hours and seeing so many screen-shots etc. I can say that "It Rocks!"
