hey,

I just bought the half life orange box and installed the games from it
problem is that when I tried to start half life 2 I had some issues:

-when I try to start halflife 2, about 2 of the 3 times the game just stops by itself before it can even reach the menu
-the times that it doesn't stop by itself it is hard starting a new game since it looks like the game doesn't react to my mouse clicks (I have to click about 3 to 4 times before it reacts)
-when I've started a new game I get the intro story and after that the screen suddenly starts to spin around like I'm moving my mouse with inhuman speed making me unable to play the game

things I tried:
-starting it with -32bit on the end of the "start in" link (didn't work)
-save the game and reload it (screen still spinning)
-restarting pc

note:
-these issues don't happen when I play episode1, 2 and lost coast

my pc specifications:
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6400+ (2 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 6142MB RAM
Hard Drive: 400 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit

someone who knows what to do?

Jesus christ that's an odd RAM amount.
Anyway, go into your steam games list, right click HL2, go to properties, local files, then click 'verify integrity of game cache'
fixes some problems.

thx but it didn't help
in fact the first issue only got worse (the game stopping by itself)

sorry for double post but I already found the answer
had to do it with the -32bit thingy but the problem is that I did it on the wrong way Oo'
