A little HL2 fanfic.
Half-Life 2: The Rebels
Episode One: Escape
Part I
It was a cold winter morning in City 17. There was frost on the surveillance bot as it flew above the slippery roads of the city, empty except for combine soldier patrols. The robot looked like the result of a cross between a cyborg wasp and a giant humming bird. It floated gently through the city and turned into a narrow alley and then down a flight of steps.
The building it went into was old and run-down. The greyish blue walls had bullet holes and other marks on. The windows were barred with wooden planks that were rotting.
The robot turned into a small room. Through it’s camera lens, a man or woman somewhere saw a gun. Well, that’s not entirely true. They saw the end of a gun. The end that goes bang.
This gun went bang.
Kat and Sam ran into the room when they heard the gunshot.
“What’s going on?” Kat asked in her upper-class English accent. Kat looked about sixteen and had brown hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a blue sweater and jeans.
“It was a bug. We’ve got troops inbound” the man holding the shotgun said in a deep voice. He was quite tall and muscular with a stubble beard and floppy blonde hair. He was wearing a red and blue shirt and beige combat trousers.
“Crap” Sam swore in a Texan accent. Sam had spiky black hair and freckles and looked about seventeen.
A third man ran in from the same door as Sam and Kat. He looked about fifty with short brown hair that was going grey and wearing glasses. He was wearing a white scientist’s coat.
“What’s happening?” he asked.
“Everything’s going to hell doc” Sam said.
“It was a bug, soldiers we’ll be on their way Doctor” the man with the gun told him.
“Okay then. Max, is the buggy ready?” the Doctor asked. Max, the rugged looking blonde nodded.
“Ok, Sam come and help me start it up. You and Kat hold them off and then run out back. We’ll go to... the docks. We can stay with Janet until we find another base... Oh, did you plant the explosives?” the doctor asked. Max nodded again. “Let’s go then”
Max knelt down and opened a box on the floor. He tossed Kat his shotgun and took a machine gun from the box. They both loaded them up.
“Ready?” Kat asked.
“I’m always ready” Max replied.
Hmm... maybe this should be in off-topic? I dont know.
