Half-Life 3

For Half-Life 2 I forced myself to not look at any Bink videos or read any revealing material and patiently awaited the game. Anyone else do this? I was really glad I did as no dissappointments came in the form of omitted material and everything was a surprise! Any of you planning on doing this for Half-Life 3? I was glad I did. And hopefully I've got the fortitude to do it for HL3.

No, found everything I could on HL2 and watched it, looked at it (with the exception of the leak... didn't even look for it), and I regretted it. It might be hard, but I will not be looking at any teaser paraphanalia for HL3.

I applaud you're strong will, but aside from written materials nothing much was really revealed in videos. More than half of the videos released were of content that didn't even make it in to the final game, and most are actually pretty cool. I'd advise you to download what you can for a little bit of new content. It'd be nice to be able to do that for HL3 but after playing HL2 I can't stand not knowing the rest of the story. If any opportunity presents itself, I'm likely to pounce at it. I simply don't have the testicular fortitude to starve myself of knowledge.

i did, but it didnt make me dissapointed, infact it was better then exspected, i am dissapointed tho, but not at half-life 2,
my computer! i can't play for three second before i get a memory error!
(oddly, i can play hl2 deathmatch and NEVER get a memory error, i wonder why?)

hey im gonna try this for hl3. I watched everything for HL2, and I still loved HL2 ALOT. But i can't imagine how much fun it would be if everything was a suprise.

actually, the videos showed you jsut about every enemy and every weapon in the game. Also, while the areas in the binks were not exactly like the game, they were very similar therfor revealing almost the entire setting of the game.

I regret watching them (the hundreds of times i did) but i know i could not stop my self from grasping onto any tidbit of hl3 that is released.

i can see benefits to both ways, but no i don't think i will be able to ignore anything.

i only saw 3 screenshots of hl2 before it came out, shots of alyx (the early version) talking to gordon in kleiners lab.

now that i finished hl2, i downloaded the binks .. and i'm glad i didnt watch them any earlier :dozey:

I was just agreeing with Messermeier as it sounded like he did the same thing as me. Plus I just wanted to say "Right ahwn my brutha." But that stood to reason.

I read/watch interviews and binks. Just to see how the game is coming along. They didnt spoil anything so ya ill watch it.
