I am still new to the Half Life Series. I have the second one and I am looking for the first one but cant find it :frown: . I heard that Aftermath and Lost Coast are going to come out soon. I was wondering if they are both going to cost around $50 and also what do I need in order to play them. Here are my PC specs.

Processor Intel Pentium 4 2600MHz
Display Card NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
Memory 512MB
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP
Free Disk Space 89.17GB
Display Card Memory 64MB
Display Driver Version 7.8.0.1
DirectX Version 9.0c

I got that from Windows Game Advisory. So will that be good enough or no?

Lost Coast is a short level designed to show off the top of the line capabilities of the Source engine, and as such, you probably won't be able to run it very well. It's free to anyone who has Half-Life 2 though, so I'm going to guess that you can try and play it anyway.

Aftermath, however, will be designed for similar systems as Half-Life 2, so if you can run HL2 you should be able to run Aftermath. Valve hasn't announced it's price yet, but Aftermath will probably be anywhere from 20 to 35 bucks.

As for Half-Life 1, if you can't find it in stores and you absolutly must have it, the platinum pack on Steam would be your easiest choice, though it's 20 bucks, it'll get you Half-Life 1 and it's two PC expansions, Opposing Force and Blue Shift. I'd recommend trying to find it in stores though, as it's bound to be cheap. Look for:

Half-Life
Half-Life: Game of the Year Edition
Half-Life: Blue Shift
Half-Life: Counter-Strike
Gunman Chronicles

Any of those should be cheap, and have a CD-KEY you can use on Steam to get access to the Half-Life 1 games (Half-Life, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Classic, Richochet and I think Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat. That might have changed though)

Would buying a new Video Card help with playing this game (Lost Coast) when it comes out?

I am going to buy a Geforce 6600GT 128MB 128-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card. Would it then be enough to at least play it?

they said the minimum requirement will be Radeon X800 / GeForce 6800

6600gt will probablly run it...
your mx440 would choke, die, kill you, blow up, and crash your game
