aahh! I would change religion if i got my hands on that one :p

Does anyone know(or have and e-mail to valve so they can ask) if the "HL-bible" is ever going to be released(i guess it wount be free). Maby after HL3 or something?

Or if they could give out a shorter version, like a novel/story(something similar to the two books that were about Halo).

The interview linked on the front page mentions that Marc Laidlaw drafted out about 1000 page "bible" defining the rules etc. on the HL world.

He's referring to the book in the gamereactor interview.

I'd like to get this thing, too^^

I don't know if I'd actually read the whole thing but it might be cool to actually know the entire story behind everything. Especially that damn G-Man :D

Yeah, but this hardly means they reveal the bible to public before the release of hl3 or 4? This would reveal too much of the story too early.

Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!

Seriously, that would make an excellent special edition extra, maybe for HL3.

HL3 in 3 years time, oh great.

Well, it'd spoil the storyline otherwise. Snippets of it'd be all over the net.

I doubt they'll release it for the public in it's current state (Probably lots and lots of ideas and thoughts on the HL universe, sketched out stuff), but if they edited it to a reasonable bookform it'd be awesome if they released it!(like they've released Star Wars episode 1 and 2 books that simply were edited scripts.)

I think I'm gonna have to convert... :upstare:

HL-Bible would be kind of same thing as Fallout Bible, telling every damn thing about the game(s).

I never wasted my time reading such thing and found out the mysteries of FO/FO2 my own. HL does not have secrets, it does not posess huge world with shitload of stuff around.

And now we pray.

From the book of Gordon versus IR:1337

"He cometh from the train merrily I say. Wise and learned in the ways of theoretical physics. Thus a resonance cascade doust bringeth Gordon the mighty to thine knees. Broken and beaten Gordon riseth from the ashes, wielding a device of terrible power. A crowbar glowing with thy fire of God. Upon enemies was hiseth furious vengeance unleashed. From within they try to desecrate that which was holy and enslave those which were free"

The bible of Half-Life is very vague and bizarre. Only scholars and academics would be able to decipher the true meaning behind that passage.

Only one thing to add to this awesome story:

"..And so he lived happily ever after with his crowbar.."

:rolling:

This book would rule if they released it sometime. But i'd want to see the story ingame before I read it though.

I love books like that on universes in games and other things, they are good reads if you are interested, Im not sure i would convert or read it if it was in Old English. :)

I'm hoping they do decide to give it the masses. It would, obviously, have to undergo vigerous editing, but they could also throw in team interviews, concept art, dropped features (or improved, whatever)... collectors and/or rabid fanboys like myself would snap that right up!

Old english is fantastic! It's portrays granduer and elegance far more effectively than this crappy dialect we speak today. Woe i say!

Has anyone emailed gabe about this? Some people said they were going to.

Yey...and Barney did looketh to Gordon and reveal to him thateth if he caught thee later thou would acquire thee a beverage from the Gods!

I may be a game nerd, but I'm not that much of a nerd that I'd read a 1000 page HL bible.

Good god, i can see the HL cults and nerd conventions that would sprout from the public release of this thing.

I swear, some people need gfs.. or more porn.

I have a girlfriend, and I would still read the bible (Of the Half-Life Flavor).

It's a good story... so what if it's based off of a game? Does reading a book entail nerd conventions?

I would read it... im sure alot of people would, but no one would make a cult... let's be realistic

Yes, read it since "Youth don't read books enough these days".
Blasphemy! Lies! Words of Satan! Products of Bill Gates!

Have at thee!

The Half-life bible would be awsome. It would be great to have a definitive storyline and not just stuff people make up to fill plot holes :p

It would be like reading J.R.R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion which detailed the entire history and mythology of Middle Earth. It was pretty dry reading, but some folks really got into it.

Personally, I'd love to see excerpts of some of the more interesting parts of the Half-Life "bible" but I doubt I'd want to read the whole thing.

Yes. I guess most of us hardcore fanboys like fiction based around our favourite games and movies.

i certainly would want to see an official take on the HL universe. im real into lord of the rings, and reading like that is interesting to me.

this kind of book would definitely be an interesting read for hardcore HL fans which inlcude meh :E

and who wouldn't like to know the real story behind the G-man :dork:
a book like this would be a very good idea

If someone would mail Valve about this, I dont see any reason why they wouldn't put it online via Steam after HL3

Are you just stupid? Have you even played Half-Life? Secrets?

1. G-Man
-Origin
-Relation to both Freeman and Shepard
-Role in Black Mesa

2. Gordon
-History

3. Marines
-Who sent them?

4. Resonance Cascade
-Sabotage/Planned
-Role of G-Man v. Ninalanth (<-- whatever)

---
HL2

What happened in the years that Gordon was asleep?
What of Xen?
Where did the combine come from?
Combine alien or human or both?
G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!? G-MAN!?

I hope you got my point!

You won't mind if I take that a little dirty do you, eh heh heh. Poor lonely Gordon needs to get some a***

This is something I would like to have in my hands. Would be interesting to read about Xen.

Well, for me, the coolest thing in the HL bible would be the history of Black Mesa. Who founded what technologies, why was it built in the first place, who initiated it, and were there any previous accidents that were covered up. Also, Gordon's history would be cool, as well as the g-man's.

4ny0ne 3lse w4nt t0 attack valve offices and kidnap the valve bible!
kekekekek we r teh zerg rush valve HQ
