half life crashes after i kill gonarch

i killed gonarch and went to the next area, but when i get to the portal out of there and go through it my game crashes to windows

when i go through that portal beam my game crashes, what cuases this and what can i do to fix it?

yeah, i bought it in that anthology pack from steam

Try right clicking 'Half-life' in your my games list. Go to properties. Find the 'files' tab I believe it is, and find the button which says 'verify integrity of game cache'. Let Steam finish it's work, and it should have fixed and bad / corrupt files in your halflife.gcf files. Give it a try after that.

Didn't work, it crashed as soon as I went in but it was a good idea

Crud, now it crashed in blue shift, the only game that hasn't done this now is opposing force, come to think of it, thats the only game that i didn't have a save game for when i reinstalled everything. becuase i copied the save files from blue shift and HL1, do you think that cuases a bug in the saved game?

Are you aware that your game is running in software mode? Try setting render to OpenGL. (It's in video options)
