Half Life, easy or impossible?

I never did see the difference between quicksave, and cheating anyway...you're just going to reload, so why not cheat

Anyway, the worm in "Blast Pit" annoys me, so after playing HL so many
times, I just try to get through that as quickly as possible...

Nah, that was easy. I beat it a few times without cheats and then played my favorite parts again using pre-saved files.

I suffered through Xen but when a bug got me stuck right at the very end of Big momma I downloaded a saved game to Nihilianth and beat his ugly stitched up ass. No cheats, although I did skip like 1/12th of the game.

Basically, play well, using everything to your advantage, and the game's a cinch, even on hard (in fact, the beginning of the game is easier. The security guards have less life, so it's easy to kill them and take their precious ammo. On easy they've quite a bit of health, so taking them down is difficult w/o losing some health in the process (or wasting some ammo, but that defeats the purpose; crowbar all the way)).

Good post there. OK, I'm crazy and never kill allies in any games, so I'd rather run around without ammo than kill a guard. But on Medium difficulty in HL, Magnum and Crossbow are amazing weapons. Both get marines in one shots and those alien grunts in two. Awesome.

When playing on hard, I don't really use the gauss gun anyway, just on one or two occasions to take an alien grunt down instantly with secondary fire. I prefer to either use shotgun in their face, or explosives.

I think HL is kindo easy. Now im compleating the game on hard without crosshair and autoaim.
The hud dissapaired because of some bug, and then came back again the next time i played it. Is there a console command to make the hud disappaire? Since, its more tense playing with no hud.

as far as I remember with Nihilanth you shoot the glowing orbs around his head first and then he opens his head?

try cl_hud 0

You shoot crystals on the walls first, then you shoot him, then his head opens.

I beat OPF on hard mainly using the monkey wrench + quicksave. It really wasn't that hard.
