Half Life Live Action leaked footage?

I found this while searching for footage from the leaked beta of HL2, figured people here might find it interesting. This looks like it could be some kind of Halo 3 like live action short film or something. Super spyfootage quality though. Wouldn't be a movie since we haven't heard anything, unless of course it is a fan film. Though it could be nothing more then what is visible in the 58 second run time. Whatever the case, it looks kind of cool, even for only the 'what if'.

Who the hell is taping this, it looks like shit. All I was able to See was a women firing a SMG. And some retarded looking stiders.

I think I've seen that movie before if it is what i think it is then it's about a bunch of US soldiers in Iraq with scary monsters not half life plus the quality of the video is bollocks

Even though it's most likely fake it looks kinda tight.

Seriously, if it was properly directed I believe a hl movie would easily work.

They mean that this discussion has been done... to death. We all know a Half Life movie would be great but apparently a halo movie would be better and I'd feel sorry for the actor playing Gordon as he wouldn't have any lines even though he's the main character

I'm inclined to agree with redruM and Pesmerga. It does look kind sweet, at least the mostly unfocused bits that we see in between the jacket/shirt, lol.

I looks pretty good but it looks more like HL2 and wouldn't it be better to start with a movie of HL1 at Black Mesa?

Thats what Valve would do or maybe sue the makers cos of copyright infringment

Maybe that leaker could hide red led lam of camera and film it more carefully?

IT'S NOT REAL! It's people behind a green skreen with images from the game. A hl movie would have better looking graphiks. Didn't you see that the citadel is directly from episode 1? No "OMG LOOK AT TEH GRAFIKZ< SWEET JUESUS, OH LAWD!"

at least the halo live actions had better graphics.

Hmm, looks interesting, from what I can make out. I'd like to see more...

I don't think anyone is stating it is official, just saying it still looks interesting none the less. Check out all those fan trailers for HL movies on youtube and then the glimpses we get of this. I think it is too early to pass judgement aside from curiosity.

true I suppose. But at least the Fan movies make sense. Why is there an unmaksed girl in combine suit? I say face was overlapped.

There is also still the fact of why exactly it takes place during episode 1. After ravenholm, after the rebellion's uprising, after all those cool fights. Why starts it at the end?

Because we have virtually no information about it.

We can always dream... until then, I'd settle for some good novels. I've been reading the Halo novels recently (the horror!) and to be honest its not that bad. The millionth engagement with flood zombies gets a bit tedious, but the Covenant perspective segments are quite refreshing, and of course all the filling in the blanks of what happens behind the scenes in the game never hurts, like Sergent Johnson surviving and all that stuff.

You should have skipped the second book, dude.

I don't know if it's fake or not and it doesn't matter a whole lot to me. But you do know pretty much all movies are not shot in the same sequence that the finished movie is in right?

Man, the Halo Novels are awesome!

Sorry for being off-topic. Looks suspicious to me.

My god what is that? What the hell is "Half life action?" And why are you all saying it is fake!?

Whatever it is, it looks good. AND I WISHED THIS WAS REAL FOR ****S SAKE!!

Besides the fact that the environment has those not-too-high-res hl2 textures, it does look pretty cool. I wish someone GOOD would make a hl movie not some jackass like Uwe Boll, who by the way is making a FAR CRY movie  . Yeah, I just can't wait to see how much more retarded he's gonna make Far Cry's already retarded plot.

Couldn't agree more, Uwe Boll has done some really ugly stuff like what he did with House of the Dead. I really don't know why they can't do good movies based on games. What they did with Resident Evill was just a massacre, they invented a whole new stroy they didn't recreate a single moment or did nothing well at all.

I think we all agree that it is not official, there are no intentions from Valve or anyone to turn the game into a movie.

P.S: the FarCry movie is gonna suck, that's a fact

Actually, I read that Quentin Tarantino is a hl fan and said that he would be interested in making a hl movie, but I don't think it'll happen anytime in the near future, which is a pity coz hl could make a pretty kick-ass film.

I don't want a HL movie to begin with, but goddamn if that overrated hack director made it, I would just start punching everyone in the face. Everyone.

tbh, Tarantino isn't the worst director out there, but his films are extremely gimmicky. Then you have the group of 15-year-olds who mistake "gimmicky" for "deep," and start masturbating furiously when they hear his name. The thought of this happening to HL... oh god i could cry ;_;

fully agree there. in fact, if that happened id volunteer for you to punch me.

I think QT is a great filmmaker but all his movies and his style just scream QT. I don't know if he could put that aside and give Half Life the proper adaptation treatment it needs.

Actually, from what I could see, the footage was most excellent. And the rebel execution fragment... casts a new shadow on the CPs.

so do the rebels. They just broke off during the invasion. I don't know, it just seems there was a crap load less metros and more soldiers.

Not convinced. I know there's not much to see, but the parts I could make out looked really HL2'ish. As in they looked lifted straight from the game. If anything, it's a fan film. There was one released a while ago that that mixed live actors with game assets, and I imagine this would be the same deal by the look of it.

I wasn't actually saying I WANT Tarantino to direct a hl movie. On the contrary, I think his style is too over-the-top for hl, he'd probably end up replacing the crowbar with a katana, giving Alyx an mp7 for a hand, and changing the whole plot to incluce humorous blood-bath gun fights with brief dialogues concerning hamburgers and Amsterdam.

However, I can't see what's bad about a hl movie (if it stays true to the series) at all besides attracting a shitload of noobs to the series. I imagine that if it was made in a similar "spirit" as, say, Children of Men, it could be amazing.

I'd rather play more Half-life universe games made by Valve than watch a Half-life movie, no matter how good it was. Frankly, just HL2 beat most movies on my DVD shelf.
