Something like max payne would work, because its told as a story and you often ehar max talk. You aren't really max, you are just watching him. However, you are Gordon in hl and seeing him on screen would make things a little weird. Thats why most games to films dont work, because it completely changes the premises.

He's been directing since he was a kid, just with smalltime films that were only big here in New Zealand. All the stuff he's made is low-budget, some even more so than films like the Blair Witch Project, but they're pretty cool. Anyway I only mentioned him jokingly since he's the most obvious director out there at the moment

Weeeeell, why not... Okay, I can't see Fincher making a monster/alien movie, but there are definitly better directors than Peter Jackson. He's a bit overrated...isn't he?
I'm not saying he sucks as a director, I liked the LOTR movies, but there ARE better ones...
