Half Life Opposing Force Redux Mod [Help!]

Hey, just today I thought i would go back and play some Opposing Force when i noticed there was a mod for it... the mod is brilliant and i have extracted everything to the right place, but for some of the reasons the modified guns make no sound? even the knife is soundless! can anybody i help me?

Opposing Force Redux is a enhancement package for Opposing Force. It is designed to work with the new Steam Client provided by Valve

There's your solution. Register your Opposing Force key on Steam and play the mod though Steam.

I think my copy of the game is so old that it wont work with steam :S ??? Because everytime I try to register it with steam it says that my cd key is invalid, and without steam in the normal version with the mod, I can see all the new skins, but some of the guns make no sound when they shoot.

Retail CD Keys

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.

Easiest solution? Register HL1 key.

Indeed use your Half-life 1 CD instead and you'll be set. If you don't have that you are pretty much stuck.

Opposing Force is available to purchase from the Steam Store if you are adamant to play this mod, it's 3 pounds.
