Half-life source config for Hammer

I am having difficulties with configuring Half-Life source for Valve Hammer Editor. im new to the forums here

thanks to anyone who helps I heard you are supposed to edit the fgd i think then do the config but it confuses me and i do not know how to configure.

You don't edit the .fgd file. Are you following a tutorial?

no im not following a tutorial. i dont have any clue how to set up HL:S for hammer

Which configuration file are you trying to modify?

im trying to set up hammer to make maps for half life source im not trying to modify it says on valve developer wiki http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Games_Supported_By_The_Source_SDK that Half-Life: Source requires you to manually add a new entry to gameconfig.txt. the gameconfig.txt thats what it was but i didnt understand
