I tried using google to see if I could find a problem similar to mine and came up empty handed. Here's the issue..

When I attempt to move using WASD and move the camera at the same time, it be comes very sticky and unresponsive, as if my character is having a seizure. I've tried to change the sensitivity settings, and even the buttons. I went as far as to use XPadder to map my PS3 controller to the game, and I still experience the same issue, though not as bad.

Any reason this is happening?

Mmm. I don't think so, It appears that when I changed the movements from WASD to UDLR keys and remapped my controller, it's not nearly as choppy, it's as if the character physics are messing with it? I didn't have this issue with the original Half Life when I had it.

Recommended Specs: 2.4 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows XP

My Specs: 2.2 GHz Processor (OC'd to 2.4), 3GB RAM, Nvidia 9800 GT Graphics Card, Windows Vista

I had a similar problem when I set the mouse sesnsitivity in tf2 much higher then in hl2. This caused very low mouse sensitivity in hl2. I fixed this by turning off the steam cloud in hl2 settings. That might work for you.
