Half-Life The movie Trailer

this fo-sho was not legit, but still pretty cool! however i dont like they guy they used for GF, he just quite didnt fit the part.
 
I hope if they make a movie...Wich they shouldn't:

That it doens't involve Gordon. But lots of characters (and maybe Gordon)...maybe the story-lines are linked in the end, like Magnolia or crash.
And not all action -Just like HL-franchise- some action, some thinking.

So it must be intriguing, exciting, action-paced with a good storyline -I don't doubt that this will be the case if Laidlaw is involved- some politics and morale in it, lovely scenery and some real cool moody camera-shots

Then Maybe it'll be good...

But I do believe that if Valve ever gives the green light that they'll have the utter most confidence that it will be good. They wouldn't wan't to ruin their image of perfectionists -wich they are ;) -

They would have to put Gordon in the movie as the main character because first of all Half-Life is Gordon Freeman.

He would have to talk & if they were to pick a guy the looked like him, he would have to be strong, a little quiet, a smart MIT graduate, a more visible Goatee, & a more scientist looking glasses.
 
if they where evey to make a movie, i think it should be based in the half life 2 world after the Black Mesa incident and gordon should only be mentioned, not ever seen or heard. the Main characters(s) should be rebles and/or civilians. However this would make it hard to have an ending with the plot considering the end of the half life story is yet to be determined and a whole movie could simply be based on just half life 1 let alone half life 2 ect... i think finishing such a story would be difficult with out Gordon, but i dont think they should ever make a movie with him. You know, Id like to see like a TV series based in the half life 2 world with the Black mesa incident being the season premiere and go from there, you know, something on the Si-Fi channal, it think that would work out much better then a movie.

You cant release stories based on the Half-Life storyline to the silver screen because everyone apart from gamers wont really know what is going on, its has to be the Half-Life story as we know it, with Gordon as the main character.

Why would anyone want to see the inside of his--? Oh, goatee.

A HL movie would be hard to get right, but if they DID get it right it would be great. Game to movie adaptations are always rather hard, and HL presents extra problems.
 
7-Hour War would be a nigh project.

That was pretty cool.

To make a HL2 movie from teh perspectives of the rebelts with only chatter about Gordon and possibly the occasional glimpses of him would not be Half Life at all...

I like the way they did it in the trailer there. Just make it so he has like a soar throat or something and cannot talk ;)

hlcomics would be great as a tv series. also there could be a movie based on hl2 because you could basically just prolouge what happened in hl. considering hl2 is more in depth in the story.
 
If they ever make a HL movie, DONT put Gordon in it. Do it like Op4, where you're someone else, but you randomly get a glimpse of Gordon, but don't make it OF HL...we already know how it goes, we need something fresh. The 7hr war in 2 hrs!? :D though that means no Gordon..oh well.
 
Half-Life 2: The Resistance (done by "theotherguy89") would make an awesome movie, only if they take out the Gordon Freeman chapters of the story..

It has main characters from HL2 in it, they casually mention Gordon, it has the perfect basis for a movie without screwing anything up.
 
I liked it. I'd see it if they made a movie out of it. Some stuff will def. need to be cut for movie length, but it'd be kinda nice to see a HL movie made. DOOM was...OK I guess but they could've done better (actually made it hell attacking other than a stupid gene)

You cannot have Gordon Freeman as a character, he barly has a personality and he's a silent proragonist for a reason; so people can litteraly put words in his mouth and prodject their thoughts onto his. He cannot be in a film for anything more than a passing glance. You could have a character called Gordon Freeman that looked identicle but is not the same character. If you have read and watched the Lord of the Rings books and films then you should realise that Famarmir is a completly different person in the two media.
 
i think that if the made a movie they should switch between the characters during the incident. Like the first scenes shows gordon freeman then the camera follows Barney as he enters the lab from the train track (you know he had trouble opening the door) and then when he can see Gina bringing the sample on the video monitor (as you can in the game) the camera zooms into the video and follows Gina bringing the sample, then its raised into the test chamber and there you see gordon and so on so on you know.

As for the trailer, was it really fake .. just out of curiosity .. not too good on the movie editing scene. Even if it was though, would be nice to see a HL Movie .. assuming they found the right actors and didn't well .. kill the series or make a mockery of it.
 
Ok ill agree now, the film should not contain Gordon because it would wreck it for the player of the game as we all know he doesn't talk. So they should make a story around it, and have Gordon only appear on the scene for short periods of time, or we just catch glimpses of him. However we should actually know all about him really, like hear other citizens telling about what he has done or doing etc.
 
It was OK, they should have used a HL2 Vortigaunt though.
 
I still think a 7-hour-war movie (not a 7-hour long movie, important distinction there) would be the best bet. Or maybe as a sequal to Black Mesa. But neither of the movies should follow Gordon, Shepherd, or Calhourn - maybe glimpses of each, but i'd be best to centre around a group of surivors during the event.

No, having him as the main character would be stupid. Unless you watched the movie entirely from his POV. Which would be stupid! So maybe you'd have glimpses of him, you'd catch mentions of him - "Freeman was supposed to be in the test chamber an hour ago!" - "Forget about Freeman!" - but you would not follow his story, you would not follow his character.

The story would follow another character, maybe a collection of stories from other survivors of Black Mesa or the 7-hour war. It's perfectly possible to create a character's personality in the length of a single movie - all sorts of movies do it all the time.
