About a two weeks ago, my back spasmed for couple minutes, then it went away. Then a few days later it was full force. I couldn't lean over at all. it is very painful. I think I got it from slouching in my chair for hours on end.

I was taking ibuprofen, using ice and then taking a hot shower.

It seemed to be getting better after a few days, but it's been about 10 days and it's still very painful even while taking 3 ibuprofen.

Anyone else had this shit? WTF. From what I read online it could last a week or a few weeks.

probably this. when i was sick a few months back all i did was play xbox
for a week. i got better, my back got ****ed.

moral of the story: sit up straight.

are you positive it's not pulmonary hypoplasia?

Eh? My lungs? I've won underwater breath holding contests. I have great lung capacity, as I often put to good use in my twenties as a pot head.

I really want some muscle relaxers, but it's a prescription drug and doctors are expensive.

tbh i just heard about that on a recent episode of house and thought it would be cool to throw it out like i knew what i was talking about.

My Mum recently had similar symptoms that came and went and came again... it turns out she has rheumatoid arthritis. Maybe you have that too.

rheumatoid arthritis.

noooo nununuh. That's not it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Could have pulled a major muscle in your back. Weak core back muscles can easily cause problems in later life. Specific area to the pain? Any numb regions?

Also the possibility of sciatica or a slipped disc (which would be extremely painful).

the source is about mid back (upper back muscles) on the right side mostly/only.

I really don't think it's related to my spine, as it feels like I have been leaned over working on a car engine all day. muscle aches and pain.

It's pretty sore, it also may spasm if I lean over.

I did a little test for spinal disc herniation (incorrectly called slipped disc)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straight_leg_raise

and didn't feel any pain doing that.

It may just be from a pulled muscle and I expect it to heal on its own. I probably got it from boxing (throwing hooks) without stretching or warming up.

Getting old sucks, you really have to be easier on your body.

Occasionally I'm getting these intense, but short lived spasm things on my ride side off to the side of my spine a little ways.

I don't know what it is, but it's startling every time it happens, but then it goes away.

Exactly. You're next.

Sit up and relax your muscles. I know it sounds weird, but I have to try to relax. So it's not very relaxing.

Chase, run tests for every illness ever, except the one he has, Cameron, go put on a low cut dress and do something demeaning, Foreman, go break into his house. If he has any vikiden, bring me some. I'm gonna go look moody for 20 minutes, then limp into his room and accuse him of being a homo

Actually, rheumatoid arthritis doesn't cause those deformities immediately; it takes a period of a few years for the joint capsule to be destroyed. Though it's still pretty unlikely unless you have family history of rheumatoid arthritis or other autoimmune diseases.

Oh hey I just read your other posts, and it's definitely a muscular problem. A pulled muscle sounds most reasonable; they can cause pain for several weeks. Keep taking the ibuprofen and apply a heating pad if you have one. If it doesn't hurt too much, try doing light back stretches each day as well.

Also if we are going to get on the topic of House Em Dee it was lupus once and Cameron was much cuter as a brunette

Aren't you clever.

A fantastic episode.

You really remind me of someone.

Gentle stretches. Buy a better mattress. Come to a country where medical attention does not cost money.

The lupus episode...they came in at, like, a minute left and said it wasn't lupus, iirc.

I think the thread title is very attractive for a game name. At least in looks.
