Halflife2.net Announcement: Wiki open

On the main page look at the bottom and you'll see "Upload file" in the small print.

To put the image in a page after uploading you can use something like [[image:filename.type]] ...not sure.

Or you can use that "Characters" template...

Ah thanks. I'll try uploading files when I am on a stable computer.

I started an article of Mikeal grizzly and I'm currently making a Xen page.

Really cool wiki, been helping it a bit. GJ HL2.NET.

i find this hard to get. what is the purpose of it. i mean there is already a hl2 developer wiki portal, let alone a hl2 wiki portal itself. what exactly s the purpose of this?

Ok - this is something made by the community - also it will be used for alot of other things that we have in store, if you look hard enough in the wiki itself you'll find it.

Could someone add a new category onto the main page? I want a Modding category to add a load of information on the engine. :)

This Wiki is the epitome of epic.

I've already managed to bork my own entry, perhaps someone less wiki-noobish can sweep it into the correct category. ;)

I suppose if we all chip in sensibly this could be one of the best Half Life resources on the web.

Once the category is on the wiki itself, and if it is filled properly - then we might...

I think since Evo is a Content Writer, that he should make my page. ;)

:O

But but but....i wouldn't dare! I would never do it justice

D:

Ahh come on, I know you would do better than I could! :D

EDITS: :D :D :D <3

Ha ha, on the "Wanted Pages" list I see "Masturbation"... Guess someone should get to making that page, pronto!

Steam Games is something that needs work fellas ;)

Boy, we've got a lot of work to do. But if we keep going and keep the quality up, this is gonna be badass.

I'll start working on G-Man and Eli Vance.

It would be nice to have an article count in the front page. Also, does anyone know how to get references? The "staandard" wikipedia way doesn't work.

I'm putting the finishing touches on the Team Fortress Classic article right now, and I'm thinking about removing it's Moar status. Thoughts on that?

If you've got a good amount of content on it covering nearly all aspects of the game then go for it.

edit: just saw the page, wow. Great amount of work.

I had a crack at the Ravenholm article because I thought it needed a little work, so sorry whoever I edited over. Feel free to edit back over if it doesn't seem right... or whatever.

EDIT: Although I couldn't think of a sentance that flowed well into [[Zombie_(Classic)]] annnnd I'm not great at coding, so I was a little unsure about that part.

Also, this is fantastic, good work HL2.net staff!

Eh, I was about to edit the very same page, it was very short with almost no info to speak of, glad you did the work instead of me!

No offense, but I still think it could use some more work (pictures, sections, etc.). But it's good for now!

None taken, I should of mentioned in the above post I hadn't finished it, I just thought I'd edit the 'introduction' to Ravenholm abit. I can't be arsed to write about the traps and Father Gregori. :P The original intro just needed a little tweaking.

EDIT: Christ, did I just say cba? :| WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME.

I'm impressed by the all work some people are pouring into this so quickly. Awesome job guys

Spell checking seems to be a lost art apparently. Also the edit option only seems to allow you to edit part of the text on an entry not all of it....maybe I'm missing something there?

Yeah, I've been going through the pages, making little grammatical and spelling changes. The most common one is the use of "it's", which should only be used as a contraction for "it is" rather than showing possession by an object. This should simply be "its".

@Kadayi - If you click edit at the bottom of the webpage, then you can edit the entire thing, otherwise is only certain sections...

At the bottom of the page is an "Edit" button, it's kind of out of the way. Lets you edit the whole page.
