Perhaps they just haven't found their niche in our community or they just don't get what we're all about yet. Maybe they never will. But you'll find most every one else did too. We may have been pointlessly rude and mean, but hey, we did it. Shem has posted a handful of stupid things and been abused by the forum in general. Three people with under 1000 post counts that I do like: tacoeater, jet porkins, and slug advisor (he may have over 1000 by now). There are several people with high postcounts that I don't really care for, but they are accepted members of our community and I respect them. Once again, making up my motives is a nice way of justifying your completely pre-emptive opinions on me. This is pretty much a think and write post so it's not very well formed, but I feel it's good for now.

Didn't want to continue with the discussion as it was off topic (I realise that my last post was off topic aswell but I had to reply to Pi!)

I wasn't really referring to bar^5 or dabomb since the quality of their posts is really low. I even said something about them in my very first post on this forum. And I haven't really seen any of Shem's posts before but there was nothing wrong with his post in this thread which you quoted that started all of this off so that's why I replied.

I don't think I was an ass, I just thought your post about Shem was unnecessary and rude so I just told you that basically. By the way, could you enlighten me about your motives then?

Could we call this discussion over now since we're going too much off topic? Or at least the very least discuss it somewhere else. Thanks.

How wrong I was? You posted something that was totally off topic which sparked a debate between you, Kinsze, and now me. I agree with everything Kinsze says by the way, and I don't think he owes you an apology. Had you not said anything that was off-topic, this argument between us three wouldn't have happened.

I honestly think I didn't type anything to provoke you, but I guess if I welcome people even though I'm a newbie, that's bad. I'd like to get back on topic as I said before and stop debating about this, but I guess we can't. I didn't mean for any of this to happen, and I don't hold anything against you, Sheepo.

Can't believe no idea's have been posted yet. If you can't draw and don't plan to enter you could at least give some ideas, like me!

I've been thinking about what kind of boss-like zombie would be cool and I've come up with an hunter-like creature. The idea is to balance against the slow but strong tank with a very fast but weaker-than-tank hunter-like zombie. I'm calling him the PIMP because he wears fashionable clothes and has gold chains around his neck. Basically he looks like shaq morfed with mister T with a zombiehead, behaves like a hunter but is stronger. Instead of pouncing he would simply knock or stun his victims. Fire would harm him but his ability to jump would make it very difficult to burn him.

The learning curve would be steep as mastering him by jumping wall to wall to wall. Maybe each wall jumped on before the hit could count as a bonus to damage, ie. 3 consecutive walls in one jump right before hit = damage x 3.

Secondly, what could also be cool is some kind of boomerlike creature that glues the victim or makes him/her walk really really slow. Imagine trying to fight off a horde without being able to move. Maybe make it a huge tall superboomer (as tall as buildings in the street) that can take a lot of damage and can vomit more often as well as punch a good deal. The slime could eventually attract the horde as well as paralyze. He could have a hitzone on his ass so that you'd need to shoot him there to hurt him, resulting in him often behaving like a dog chasing its tail when a survivor tries to hurt him.

edit: I just imagined what the death animation would look like after you shot him in the ass enough.

Lastly something that flies or something that burrows itself.

Is there any chance that they'll include the winner's entry in the actual game?

I already have L4D so I don't care about the prize. I'm sure there's some skilled folks out there who just don't know the game well enough to come up with a zombie that might work and who don't mind running with someone's idea (maybe with some changes). If you do go with one of mine the credit, glory and fame will be all yours, no worries about it.

As a matter of fact I would be both honored and pleasantly surprised if someone would

You must consider gameplay implications, and its role within that context--far more important that your design is a practical contribution to the game.
