Halflife2 news bit on BBC News

"We are still hopeful, however, to see the game on store shelves this fall," Valve spokesman Doug Lombardi told BBC News Online
Well, uhm at least Doug'd like it to be out now.

HAH, look at the time it was posted, this is a Counterstrike article and the time is GMT 13:37

Ahh poor old Doug :(

"We are still hopeful, however, to see the game on store shelves this fall," Valve spokesman Doug Lombardi told BBC News Online."

I think he's at the end of his tether. This hope is driving Doug insane, the poor guy is staying up night after night consuming gallons of coffee waiting for Vivendi to call. The call never comes and Doug returns to his office to ponder ways to create his new metropolis on the moon.

"They'll call" he tells his disenchanted colleagues.
They respond apathetically
"Yes Doug..i'm sure they will"
Doug whispers again
"They'll call....i know they'll call....if they don't call i'll burn their building into the ground. Every last Vivendi employee will burn in the fiery depths of hell. A pain words cannot describe will be brought unto them."

"They'll call...yes yes..."

The game's publisher, Vivendi, has not yet set an official date for its release but it could be in the shops in late November.

So much for anything even resembling the fall. They arent even sure it would make a Nov. release date.

I dunno, I think im gonna cancel my pre-order at EBGames, and purchase the Silver package via Steam just to devote my money to Valve instead of Vivendi.

Anyways:
"We also plan to experiment with new gameplay types derived from the physics simulation system"

A little confirmation of possible Half-Life 2 themed multiplayer hopefully :)

Fall is into december technically, though (think the first day of winter here is December 21). So they would have a couple months to make that.

Btw...also in Southern NH :) Go Red Sox, tonight.

Hmm, they were positive on the sept 30th date last year, hopeful sounds much less promising :(

Doug seems to be beating around the bush again. This is not a good sign.
