Halflife2 Service Pack1?? WTF?

Guys,

There seems to be some -erm- sites which have an unofficial "service pack 1" which claims to fix the errors people are getting with halflife crashing!

Any one tried it yet - I don't have too many probs this end, and I don't waht to find it steals my key/loggin details!
