Long story short, if you take the text from the pop-up at www.ilovebees.com, remove all the capital letters and re-arrange them in an anagram fashion, you get the following:

INDEX THIS IRONCLAD PREDICTION. HALO TWO SINGLE PLAYER DEMO CD-ROM DISK INCURSION AT AUGUST TWENTY FOUR. EARTH WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

This is the kind of news I like to hear... I just hope it's not exclusively an XBL download. Hopefully games magazines will have it on their coverdisks.

dude, check out the beekeeping site linked. Weird.

Woot, you PC and PS2 people can suck it now, Halo 2 is comin'

I would guess like all other demos that Xbox Magazine will have it on their demo disk like normal, and those with XBL can prolly DL it for free.

Doom 3 (full version) will be here before (supposedly) Halo 2 sp demo... I fail to see how PC people are going to suck anything.
:p

I wont play the sp demo (if it exists) I would rather wait till the whole game is completed and on store shelves, so I can play it co-op with my bro.
My bro gets OXM (official xbox magazine) and it comes with demo cds, so he probably will get it if it comes out.

Because after a week everyone will have finished Doom 3 and be bored :)

Those that have an XBox too will be ready for a years worth of multiplayer/co-op action and a single player game that actually offers a challenge :)

(not that i can't wait for Doom 3 either. It's a great time to be a fps fan \o/)

Yea like in the g4 interview they said that the xbox version will have all the stuff the pc version will have but it i will be different. AKA worse graphics. Because xbox is not all that powerful

Actually, every Xbox game turned over to the PC has had worse graphics.

Ok, Every Xbox game that has been ported to the PC has had worse graphics then the xbox version.

That wasn't any better, but meh.

true, I totally agree... but the Halo2 demo is supposedly Single player.. so technically you would get bored of the sp demo of halo2 before you got bored of the full version of Doom3... in either case I still dont think either side will be sucking anything.

and I whole-heartedly agree... ITS ABOUT FRICKING TIME THAT IT'S A GREAT TIME TO BE AN FPS FAN!!!!!

oh and for the record
you want the best single player game ever?
PLAY CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: ESCAPE FROM BUTCHER BAY, for the xbox... I cant believe how cool that was... it just got cooler and cooler all the way through. (make sure to play on hard though)

:( I really want to play this game! I have no X-Box. :( Time to get an emulator.

I'd imagine that they'd have equal graphics, not worse.

From what I've seen (Halo, Splinter Cell 1 and 2) that the PC version is either more buggy or has worse graphics than the xbox version, the textures seemed less...shiny, more flat, dunno if that's just a touch they add to the xbox version, and usually AA is off or atleast on the Splinter Cell games.

You better be right because if you're not I'm going to stab you in the face.

actually no, the graphics are pretty much worse

take THIEF, Deus ex, and Halo for example... they are worse in that, PC owners expect more...

Riddick is a breath-taking game, but even if it came out on pc it would look all muddy and blurry.

however, DOOM3 is a PC game, NOT an xbox game.

I'm not talking on an expectancy scale, I'm talking on the fact that if the textures are ported, they'll be the same on the PC...

thing is, they dont seem to be.
this isnt a matter of PC > < XBOX
just games made for the xbox have a lot of effects ingame that are lacking on their PC counterparts

as I said an excellent example is playing XBOX halo, and then playing XBOX PC... the two games cannot be compared, Xbox looks sharp, detailed has a lot of effects (even something as simple as shell ejection and dust kicking up look better on xbox) while the PC version simply fails to impress at all.. has clunky controls, even THOUGH we can use a mouse and keyboard..

I dunno I guess if someone played the PC version only/first they might judge it on its own merits... but we are comparing it to its xbox father, and it just comes up short.

That might apply to Halo 2, but something like Thief 3 looks at least just as good on PC (it's really much better looking - textures are sharper). I'm just saying most ports will, by default, look equally as good on PC - people expect better, yes, but I'm not talking about that.

i personally will download and burn as many copies of Halo 2 for every person i know directly or indirectly then burn myself a special one with glitter on it and wipe my a** with it.

Far Cry reference: "I'm gonna shoot you in the FACE!"

I agree that it's a great time to be an FPS fan!

the reason I own an Xbox is Halo.. and more specifically the ability to play Co-op games split screen, so I cant wait for Doom3 and Halo2.

in all honesty I thought thief was just as unimpressive on Xbox as it is on PC.

RIDDICK, now thats a good looking game

I don't get this. Will the demo be released with a magazine, or over Xbox Live or something. Does anyone know?

I have a question. Will this game be ported to the PC any time soon?

I have a question..

how does www.ilovebees.com have any authority to proclaim (albeit cryptically) that there will be a halo2 demo.

or am I missing something?
so like if I went to www.Iloveponies.com and it popped up with a porn spammer that said "all holes filled 23 hours a day, 365 days a year" could I then incur that Half-life 2 was delayed 365 days, and that the release date will indeed be september 30th 2004?

Your missing something, go to the link in the opening post and it will take you to a thread that explains it all.

Ported games usually have worse graphics, and Redundant, watch the Halo 2 theatrical trailer.

Well, since Halo runs at, what, 320*240 on Xbox, and up to 1600*1200 on PC, just think about it for a sec...

Looking at the same rock texture from the same distance on both systems, there's a small difference. The Xbox version's textures don't need to be as high-res as you might think. You pretty much need a level of detail that won't degrade while up-close, which is really not that high of a detail level considering the resolution. However on PC, for the "same" level of quality, you'd need a texture that is four to five times sharper when running in 1600*1200. So since the Halo textures are merely ports of the Xbox textures, they begin to look muddy on pretty much any respectable resolution.

There, problem solved.

www.ilovebees.com was made by bungie specifically for Halo 2. If you go through the site it gets really messed up and text goes everywhere and images get corrupted. Theres text in the corrupt images that tells a story that syncs up with the computer text that is on the site. There are mayday messages throughout the site. Perhaps you should check it out for a few minutes.

I love it how XBox owners venemously defend their big machine, when nobody even attacked it in the first place.

Well, 13 days till other sites get the "virus" that ilovebees had, anyone know what the link to the blog was of Dana?

the resolution on xbox isnt THAT low is it?
but yeah, thats why graphics are crappy on pc when its an xbox port, however if its a pc port to xbox, things usually work out fine (morrowind for example)

as for the www.Ilovebees.com, cool didnt know that :)

Well actually, it depends on the TV you run your Xbox on. A standard TV has a resolution of 320*240, but some TV's can run Xbox on HD, or 480/720/1080i, which basically increases the resolution of the screen. However, I think Halo either only supports 320*240 or up to 480i, in which case I suppose the graphics would be slightly sharper but of slightly less quality (sharper edges, muddier textures).

I play on a sony 37inch TV that has an option for 16:9 ratio (makes games look awesome.. think of it like watching a dvd fullscreen, then switching it to the letterbox)
I always thought the resolution displayed was at least 640x480.. funny thing is my bro in-law and I were discussing this just yesterday.

also I love playing with dolby digital 5.1 surround sound ;)

isnt that because the PC hardware exposes the game for what it truely is, graphic wise..

Halo's bump maps looked good on Xbox, on PC they didnt look as neat and tidy,.. polygon edges and mapping are shown up in better definition by higher resolutions, sometimes this exposes them to be not as neat when viewed on a TV screen, (cathode ray tube TV screens alias remember, and are not as accurate as Cathode ray tube PC monitors).

Halo on PC was how it was meant to be played, Bungie did intend that origionally.

I guess what console's conform down to at the end of the day ,, is a cheaper viable option to gaming,, with more awkward control's.:p

I hope we don't have to wait two years to get a PC version of Halo 2.
